I had a surgical abortion i went in thinking i was 5 weeks pregnant. After the termination the doc said it seemed around 2.5 weeks as the fetus was not even visible. Anyway i went home, 2 weeks later my bleeding was still bright red and medium in amount. I book an appointment to see her again she does an ultrasound and gives me the all clear. Puts me on antibiotics as precaution. Tells me if bleeding hasn't stopped in a week come back and see her. Bleeding continues. I go to see my gp and she requests i have bloods done and an ultrasound. I have them done, they see signs of retained tissue. I'm then sent to hospital. Hospital books me in for another ultrasound and bloodtest. Have them done. They then book me in for specialist. She does an ultrasound and sees very minimal retained tissue and gives me misopristol to get rid of whats left of the retained tissue she books me for a 2 week check up. I go home. Its week 4 now and im still bleeding bright red blood and still medium in amount. I'm due for my checkup in 5 days. I'll keep you updated on my progress. I wished people would update on their progress so it would ease some of our minds. As I'm freaking myself out reading some of the possibillities of complications.
