I had a total thyroidectomy on May 30th, 2012 and it is now July 16th, 2012. I had no problems regarding the surgery until a few days ago. My incision/scar site is really sore and I don't know why. I haven't changed anything I have been doing for the past 7 weeks so it can't be that. It's not necessarily tight but lately it hurts to move my neck around and I haven't had that problem so I don't know why it is doing it now! :( I also keep getting this sharp stabbing pain in the middle of the scar and it hurts so bad. It will only last for a few minutes but by the time it's done I am in tears because it is so painful. I just went to the surgeon for my 6 week check up last week and she said everything looked perfect and at the time everything was perfect. I wasn't in any pain and nothing weird had changed. Now like I said, there is a constant throbbing around my scar and the scar itself is more red in color than it usually is. I am scared that it is infected (if that is even possible since it's not an open wound anymore) or that something else really bad is going on! I am calling the surgeon tomorrow to set up an appointment but I won't be able to get in until at least Wednesday so can someone PLEASE help me and give me some advice if you have had the same problem!

Thank you so much!!!! :'(
