I have been to the dentist but my teeth are perfectly fine. I went to the doctor and my diagnosis was a sinus infection. Hope this helped someone.

I too can "pop" my nose if I gently press on either side of the bridge. Not sure if this is the root problem or just coincidence. About 20 years ago I broke my nose in a car accident. I've been able to pop my nose since. While it doesn't hurt at all when it "pops", it does seem to open up my airway. And not to mention, it really grosses out my Wife & Kids when I do it! It's hilarious! Lol...

This is usually an indication that the sinuses are inflamed or could be due to a tooth infection. Try saline solution often and pseudofed every 12 hours (the kind from behind the pharmacy counter)

I had the same click in my nose and a putrid smell that was omitted from my nose. It would permeate an entire room!! I saw a specialist and had sinus surgery- the doctor said that I has the most polyps in a nose that he had ever seen. The clicking and the smell are now gone.

I've got this exact symptom for 3 months. A bleachy/chemical/stagnant mucusy smell after a popping sound from my nose. It comes on in tandem with my voice when I talk. If I stop mid sentence it stops and then if I continue speaking the smell continues with it for a few seconds and then goes away for a while only for it to come back... I was wondering if you got to the cause of your popping and smell and if it ever went away?

I get it too, but I have systemic symptoms which has led me to believe I have an autoimmune disease even though Doctors can't figure it out. I also noticed the clicks are in sync with my heart beat.

Hi, guys.

The sensation of nasal "clicking" or "crackling" synchronized with the heartbeat is intriguing. A few possible considerations:

Pulsatile Tinnitus: This is a condition where one hears a rhythmic noise, like a heartbeat, in the ears. It's typically caused by blood flow changes in the vessels near the ear, but if you're perceiving it as a clicking in the nose, it might be due to the close anatomical proximity of the nose and ears.

Eustachian Tube Dysfunction: The eustachian tubes connect the middle ear to the back of the nose and help equalize ear pressure. If they become dysfunctional, you might hear clicking or popping sounds, and sometimes these can seem to sync with bodily rhythms.

Vascular Issues: Abnormalities in the blood vessels in or around the nasal cavity might theoretically produce a sound in sync with the heartbeat.

Sinus Issues: The sinuses are air-filled cavities in the skull, and they are interconnected with the nasal passages. Inflammation, infection, or other issues might cause various symptoms, potentially including the sensation of a clicking sound.

Palatal Myoclonus: This is a rapid contraction of the palate muscles. While it's more commonly perceived as a clicking in the ears, it's conceivable that it might be felt or perceived in the nasal region due to the close proximity.

Autoimmune diseases can sometimes have diverse and seemingly unrelated symptoms. If you suspect an autoimmune condition, it might be beneficial to see a rheumatologist, a specialist in autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions.

Regardless of the potential causes listed above, it's crucial to consult with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist, to discuss these symptoms and get a proper evaluation.
