I have been having the same problem for a couple of years. My heart would beat 3 times and skip one, and at times it has been 2 beats and one skip. I think I may have found a solution... I read somewhere online that low potassium and magnesium in the system causes some kind of (for lack of a better or more scientific explanation...!) electrical mis-firing in the heart. So...I started to eat at least one banana a day, and then, I thought what the heck I'll eat more fruit period, and nuts, and fresh vegetables. ( I should add that my diet, prior to this revelation (!) was quite heavy on the protein which was made up of a lot of chicken, eggs, no red meat because I just don't trust it anymore with all the poisons that seem to be involved with the whole cows and beef thing, although, the poor chickens are no better treated either. I could also eat a LOT of ice cream.) Long story short, within a day or two, I became a lot less aware of my heartbeat, and it had stopped skipping...Wow! So...It has been about 3 weeks now, and along with the improved heartbeat, my whole body has started to feel better. I'm 65 and have been an athlete all my life and have always been pretty slim. (5' 11" and 160lbs) but have always had that annoying little roll of fat in the love handle area. The fat has just been melting off! I also had a little growth under my right eye that looked like a little cholesterol or fat sac .(best way I can describe it) Rhat has shrunk considerably and if it continues to do so at the same rate, I'm predicting that within a month or so will disappear altogether. NOW... last night on my way home I was really hungry after beating golf balls for a couple of hours, and knowing that I hadn't grocery shopped that day, I knew I had nothing to eat at home, I made the mistake of stopping at MacDonalds for a grilled chicken sandwich, no mayo. Got a bag of French fries too. Well, wouldn't you know, about 20 minutes later, I felt a skip...nothing too bad but I had been getting very used to my heartbeat being completely normal. I'm going right back to the fruits, veggies and nuts ... Also have been eating 2 boiled eggs in the morning, with no adverse reaction. Oh, I forgot, along with the fruits, veggies etc. I had also started to drink lots of fruit juice, apple, orange, grapefruit etc. (just trying to cover all the bases here) I should mention too, that I smoke between 3 and 4 mini cigars, and I drink too much coffee, both of which I plan to cut way back on and probably quit both altogether. The cigars... gotta quit that, just common sense. However, addressing the heartbeat skipping problem, I had not cut down on the coffe or the cigars and still, a normal heartbeat using the 'diet'. Well, that's my story, or most of it anyway. Bowel movements seem to be much healthier too ...sorry to bring that up, but again, trying to cover all the bases. At the same time I started the 'diet' , I started swimming for my daily exercise, the benefit of which...even at my age I'm experiencing muscle re-growth in my arms shoulders and legs. In summary, the elimination of dietary 'c**p' seems to have been the biggest factor, with the exercise being, obviously, a supporting factor, that almost immediately corrected the heartbeat skipping thing. I hope this helps someone, because that sudden feeling in the stomach somewhere that I had just experienced a 'fright' and the the heartbeat skipping was disturbing and scary, and I really like not having to deal with it.

Go see a naturopath or herbal provider. They say that having your gallbladder out is benign but in fact it is not. It is so important to your overall digestion etc. You can treat your gallbladder naturally and with success. I wish I would have known this before having mine removed. Good luck to you.

I have had episodes of skipped beats ocassionally while in the evening after dinner or at rest with a slow heart rate. Sometimes more than 1 a minute. I have recently (after trying many remedies) found that drinking 2 or 3 large glasses of cold water stops it completely within minutes and sometimes almost instant relief. It seems to work every single time. Makes me think it has something to do with irritation of the esophagus or the weight of the water in my stomach.

Everyone with skipped heartbeats or stomach skipped beats should start with taking magnesium on a regular basis, not less than 600mg and a certain  type- you can google it.  Secondary, read about iodine deficiency. For some taking magnesium supplement could be all you need, for some more research needed. Just give it time after starting one something, do mot mix with something else to make a proper conclusion.

Lastly, do not take gallbladder out , ever,  and remember-GERD is a one diagnosis for all that actually means- we don't know what is wrong with you. Having said all that, in my own experience- I could go for days with not a single skipped beat, and then for seemingly no reason, I start getting it again. The one in a stomach are also get worse when I am lying down. When I started on Iodine, I went several days with  no skipped beats whatsoever, but then they are back- will try to increase iodine intake to every day. You have to be careful with it.  But magnesium is safe- do your own research. also , for a proper conduction of electrical impulses your body needs fats- 3 tbsp of coconut oil plus proper dosage of  omega3 oils should be in every person's diet- this is like drinking water- a must for everyone. If one is afraid of aortic aneurysm- don't - there is no cure or safe medical procedure to fix it, so nothing you can do and worrying is useless- just have faith that everything will be the way it will be.

I have had heart palpitations 15 years that I know of been to the ER multiple times seen dr they all said nothing was wrong and put me on ativan for anxiety I just recently went to a cardiologist and he did blood work up and a stress echo he said the results showed I had a more than perfect heart and passed the stress test with flying colors. I had a a procedure to look into my stomach becouse I read about the relation between hiatel hernia and palps but they said I didnt have a hiatel hernia but I think they missed is there any other tests to tell?

i have this problem also, skip beats with accompanying fatigue, the doctor do not know what is wrong, i deduced it was due to my recent change in meds.

i am currently on #1 telmisartan (for HBP), #2 carvedilol (for SVT), #3 rosuvastatin (for cholesterol) and #4 clopdigogrel (for blood clot prevention).

i have replaced rosuvastatin with atorvastatin for almost two months now. i also replaced clopidogrel with aspirin for about 1 month now.

i went to the doctor to check out what is wrong i am still to claim the results of the remainder of my general checkup including chest xray and holter monitoring results. but i have strong feeling that it is due to the recent changes in meds.

i skipped taking atorvastatin two days ago. i felt the skip beat yesterday but with less frequency and intensity.

i skipped taking aspirin yesterday. and now i am feeling great. its already 6PM here in the Philippines and i have yet to feel the skip beats and fatigue.

thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences, i hope you all feel better.
