You need a HIDA scan this will determine if your gallbladder is functioning properly. Find a good general surgeon who will listen to you and more importantly believes in gallbladder disease. In the meantime avoid fatty foods and red sauces. Good luck.
Hi Sarah, I'd definitely try cutting out the dairy products, I had luck with doing that. All that saturated fat can't be good for us.
I would suggest trying a gluten-free diet. Me and my sister have always had this probelm and were diagnosed with IBS at a young age...we were put on medication and i did help but we still had episodes every once in awhile and could never narrow it down to certain foods. We decided to try a lactose free diet for awhile but didn't have alot of success with it. We then were advised by a family member to try a gluten free diet and have never felt better!!
I did try eating gluten again just to assure myself, and felt crappy after so i know its working.
I am now off my meds and feeling fantastic. I have also lost over 20 pounds by doing this, if you dont want to lose weight you can try all the gluten free breads and baking as they contain quite a bit of fats and carbs but you won't feel crappy after eating them as you would with normal baking.
One of my relatives had these symptoms, too. She had cramps and explosive diarrhea within minutes of eating anything. She also had dark brown urine. She lost about 30 pounds in 6 months and her doctor couldn't figure it out. It turns out she had Habba Syndrome, which not many doctors know about. It's a gallbladder problem. google "habba syndrome" to find out more about it.
We found by doing a google search that cholestyramine taken before eating can alleviate the problem. This drug also goes by the brand name Questran. Apparently, this drug is also given to those who have had their gallbladders removed but still have similar symptoms.
After convincing her doctor to let her try it for a few days, she found that the very first dose stopped the diarrhea and cramping.
I'm not saying that all of you have it, but it might be worth looking into.
I have been sick on and off now for the past 6 years and have had like most a lot of up and downs. It's stated with gallstones and liver issues and turned into to me getting it removed.(FYI I wish I would have never let the doctor take out my gallbladder and I would highly discourage anyone that "needs" to have it removed. The reason I say this is 95% of the time it does not really need to come out but doctors do it anyways because it's easy pocket money. I am highly ashamed and saddened by our Society's ancient thought process that our doctors care about us as individuals. The fact is most of the time we again are just a number and not a human. They prescribe bandaids to fix other bandaids without every addressing the problem.)
Diet is everything, I say this because most of us have a hard time hearing what we put in our body truly effects our overall way of life. If you put junk in your body, then you will see junk output. Meaning you will feel sick and things will never improve. If you feed your body with healthy/nutritious food then your output will be healthy.
This is not an easy lifestyle change as we all battle with food addiction and it a lot larger epidemic then all drugs in the US. Our bodies are addicted to fake food, sugar, carbs and processed food.
Based off experience if you go true Paleo and start reading about vitamins/supplements where you personally are lacking take action, you will start to see change in ways you would never expect. A lot of you reading this will become discouraged because your entire life you/we have been lied to and facing the facts will be too hard. If you are truly tired of vomiting, rushing to the bathroom, being sick almost everyday, constant DHR and are ready to make the lifestyle changes, get ready for this. In 2-4 weeks time you should see a major difference in DHR and vomiting. This should be minimal to gone, I say minimal because some of us may need more time to recover depending on many factors such as when we strarted to feel this way. Our bodies are all different and need time to heal. In 3-6 months you will see major differences with bowel movements, blood work, no vomiting, no DHR, little to no pain and significant weightloss to those that need it and weight gain to those that need it.
This road to a healthy lifestyle is not easy and will require a support system and encouragement. We do have the power to dictate how we feel, the question remains, are you willing to do anything it takes to feel better? If yes, then it's time to make a change. If no, just remember it this is hear when you need it.
Best of luck to all and we can do this together. Head up, and stay strong.
