Hello I'm 19 yrs old. I have always experancied abnormal bleeding, but lately i have been bleeding after masturbation, and after sexual intercourse. Now the bleeding can last hours, days, or even months. I was put on birthcontrol by my gyn to help regulate my periods but i stopped taking them after a month because my husband and i wanted to try and get pregnant. We have been trying to get pregnant for the past 2yrs. Is the abnormal bleeding causing me to not have kids or could have cervical cancer?????? Please help me i'm really scared :'( thank you .
Hi Honey: I thought I answered this, but perhaps it didn't go through! I think you might have Endometriosis! It definitely sounds like it. Below find a link for the main website about it. You will need to see a gynecologist and have him 1st do a pelvic ultrasound. Then when it is determined what is going on, they can create a treatment plan for you.

Please let me know how things work out OK? And good luck and health honey!

Hi jcam. I am not in the medical field, but have experienced abnorman uterine bleeding (AUB) for what seems to have been my whole life. Birth control pills did help but turned me into a witch. My husband nicknamed it "The Ugly Pill." What I've learned is that AUB can be caused by hormonal imbalances, non-cancerous growths, fibroids, polyps, the list goes on....your doctor should be able to determine what's going on with you by taking some simple tests and most likely giving you an ultrasound. My periods were never on time, often lasted for weeks at a time. I spotted so often it was hard to know when I was just spotting or actually having my period. I bled after sex more often than not and as a result my sheets are all ruined. My doctor performed all the tests and determined there was nothing wrong with me. So, I just lived with it and it did not affect my ability to get pregnant. I have two sons. And now at age 44, I've finally taken a step to control the bleeding by having an endometrial ablation procedure called "Her Option - Cryoablation Therapy." This procedure uses sub-zero temperatures to shed the tissues that cause bleeding. However, this is only an option for women who no longer want to get pregnant so you would have to wait many years before considering this option.

Thankyou Ih: For this information, I have heard of this before, but I'm AMAZED it didn't come from something else! This site is excellent to give out information and receive it too, and I and others learn things every day. This will be very helpful! So you must have been in a constant state of ovulation then?! Or was it just constant shedding from hormone imbalances? I've heard of the Cryoablation! My EX Ob/Gyn brought it too our city for $2,000 offering it to business women who didn't want their periods anymore!!!! that is why he is my EX! But in your case it was TOTALLY needed!

Jcam: I know It's been a only a little while since we have posted, just wondering if anything either myself or ih said fits you? Either way honey you need to get a pelvic ultraound done OK? Good luck honey and if you need to talk or ask any more questions feel free anytime OK?

Hi Bambi27,

Well to this day, I still don't know why I bled so much. I had several tests and even changed doctors a few times and they never got to the bottom of it. Personally, I was sure it was hormonal but all the tests came out normal. Regarding the Ablation: luckily I have insurance that covered it 100% but I'm sure it is expensive.

Hi again jcam,

Bambi is absolutely right about the ultrasound. Your doctor will be able to see SOOO much with an ultrasound and hopefully it will help relieve some, if not all of your concerns.

P.S. - I had unprotected sex for about 1 1/2 years before I finally became pregnant for the first time. You know what they say; it happens once you stop trying so hard....don't know if that's really true or not. PLEASE keep us posted.

Just to be clear, did you have any preexisting concerns or anything like that or were you just trying to have a baby and unsuccessful at it that long? I know that they say it usually takes you about a year but I know that's not a hard and fast rule...

Wow, that's a very impressive track record there. Did you take any fertility drugs to help you along the way or did you go all natural with the conception process?
