Hi everyone. Perhaps this is not the best area to discuss this, but as my symptoms seem to fit the bill, so here goes.
About a month ago I experienced numbness in my feet and then my legs. All numbness HAS ALWAYS BEEN BELOW THE WAIST.
I am forty something, had a sit down job... was in active for many years, although surprisingly I remained the picture of health and maintained an athletic build. I now jog, a nice hilly 5 kilometer route ever day. The numbness in my feet persists and and I still have strange sensation below the waist. The numbness is below the skin.... my skin itself has normal sensation. My sphincter get's oddly numb, but I attribute this to the jogging. In my past I always played sports like soccer and the like and really hated the steady pace of jogging.
I have had bloodwork done and been tested for MS. Seen three separate doctors, one a chiropractor and he thinks I should go and see neurologist. I also have all the classic symptoms of an anxiety disorder and upon the onset on these symptoms I was under a tremendous amount of STRESS for many months.
In about another week I am going to see a psychiatrist and see if this is all in my head, which I truly pray it is.
I've always had 'terrible' feet and I should go and see a podiatrist, which I probably will after my therapy begins.
Right now, I wouldn't even notice the numbess if I was not aware of it, and when it does become more noticeable, it's like a 'buzzing' in the muscles.
None of this effects my day to day to life. I just worry all the time what it might be.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything similar.
The one sensation that is constantly consistent IS the numbness in my toes. A difficult thing to fully diagnose since I froze them so many times as kid that I DO have a nerve damage in many of them, plus I have some corns which from what I know can cause numbness.
Is all this a combination of coincidence, or am I just crazy?
