Same in here. :'( I've been struggling with a flaky scalp since I was in highschool. I am 21 now. I hate dandruff and the itchings ,but I guess I'm addicted to scratching it. I just can't help it! I hate to admit this too but scratching or peeling off big flakes feels like an accomplishment! Haha!
Anyway, earlier this month, I tried a new shampoo called SebaMed. I learned that it is a German product. Actually, of all the other anti-dandfruff shapoos I ever tried, after using this is where I saw a big improvement. I also tried applying olive oil and covering my head with shower cap overnight when I sleep. Then in the morning, I use Sebamed to wash. My head became less flaky but I noticed that when I started scratching my head again, the flakes returned. Even worse. So now, I really hope I could just keep myself from scratching it.

I'm a fourteen year old female and I've been doing this for about a year now. I just want to say, please do all you can to stop. I began scratching so hard I made little sore red holes in my head, if they get infected I'll have go onto antibiotics. I know how addictive it is but, please try as hard as you can.

You no this is really bad for you and your hair. It makes your hair greasy and more dandruff. If you carry on like this it will look like you have snow in your head. Use head and shoulders to get rid of it

OH MY GOODNESS i am 17 and i have had this same habit for nearly my entire life and i thought i was crazy and messed up and i feel so relieved to know i am not alone! i naturally have blonde hair so you wouldn't even really normally see the dandruff to begin with but it's so addicting to just run your fingers through your hair and get it all over the place, even though it's like gross and whatev

I have scalp scabs as well as dandruff, I kind of like the pain when I have my hair cut and my hairdresser catches a scab and it is removed. The action of it being cut off is so quick.

Well just had my hair cut ( have it cut every 3 weeks) I only had 1 scab that had nearly healed and the hairdresser caught it with her comb, the snag of the comb it caused was unreal and it hurt to high heaven. She did notice and asked what I had done, I just said I had an itch on the spot so scratched it. When she had done my hair she sprayed hair spray on my hair and some of it hit the removed scab and I nearly jumped out the chair! Why she using hair spray on a blokes hair is anyones guess!! lol

I love dandruff, I am a chef and I often shake my dandruff in to customers food, never had any complaints about the food so my dandruff must add seasoning or something.

I just recently started doing this, this year. I looked at other places and got some terms like dermatillomania but that is too extreme to describe me. But I could have it a little bit as I LOVE finding those white flakes in my hair a pulling them out or if it's been a day or two I get that white stuff under my nails that I like to pick out too. I obsessively bite my nails, but only in school when I'm sitting all day and I also obsessively pop all my zits (no thanks to Doctor pimple popper, which if anyone's up for it makes me feel the same way if I was popping my own pimple) I like picking at things... I don't know why. It started in elementary school when I would purposely put elmers glue all over my hands in thin layers and let it dry and then I'd pick it all off. Hours of entertainment right there. ANYWAYS I don't know how to fix scalp scratching as this is thegrissrst one Becauae I can't hide it when I'm doing it( unlike biting my nails)
