Alchol withdrawals , I unfortunatly got stuck and finally admitted I have a alchol addiction n certainly abused the alchol , I have managed to get a detox arranged which started today , so it's my first day and am on Librium capsules - in all this I have managed to push my partner away - I tried to explain I have a illness but she won't listen and has just given me the silent treatment , so I am trying to do this detox alone with hardly any support other than the professionals - I was just wondering how bad the withdrawals get before getting better , I have also arranged counselling for myself and found a aftercare support group - I have done as much as I can , problem is my mind just seems to be racing - so I have spent most of the last 2 weeks going round in circles - ie think of my partner - drink and over again - today I have taken capsules as per gp and nurses have said and I can't seem to relax - please any advice would be great Thanks

Alcohol withdrawal is downright horrific!!! It was worse than opiate withdrawal and can be dangerous even fatal! From my own personal experience with alcohol detox it was the worst for about 3-5 days then got better everyday. I really wish you luck on it. Opiatefreeme
