ok before i begin, i'm new here, came by to find some help and information and actually looks like a good site to stick around and share/gather information about alot of things, no intention of lurking! =p
but anyway,
me and the gf were talking about new things we could try today.. anal was brought up. she wanted to try it out and there was a little bit of massaging and such going on (she was already clean down there, maybe she wanted to try it?) well, eventually a finger went in, we were taking it real slow.. penetration with the finger was at most a third of an inch (hardly..) in the heat of the moment i decided to pull out and start working on the vag..... i realize later regardless how clean/prepared she was, no one is 100% clean lol. i do some research and find out many different kinds of infections can occur.. this is where i start freaking out lol, what are the chances of her getting an infection given my story? no actual penetration with the penis from anal to vaginal occured, nor did i even penetrate all that much through anal, but vaginal a little more..
i realize how stupid it is to explore something that can be potentially dangerous without any prior knowledge. i'm aware of safe sex procedures and all that good stuff, i wear a rubber all the time so spare me about the safe sex lecture =p
what i'm worried about is how big of a chance is there of her getting infected? i know there is no exact way to tell until it actually happens or not.. but i'm trying to get a piece of mind here cause i can't sleep and i'm really worried about her.. am i over doing it?
well, i really appreciate any kind of help and information that can be shared here.. i haven't started searching but i'm in the process of looking for more information and similar topics that have been brought up about anal to vaginal sex.
thanks to those who can help! =]

You are over doing it. I agree that you made a mistake but an honest one. You will not know if she has an infection until she gets one. No one can give you a probability of her getting an infection because no one on the internet knows her body chemistry. Some people's vaginal pH is more sensitive than others. There is nothing you can do and worrying her about it is probably not good either. In this case take it as it comes and be careful when it comes to having sex again. Make sure that nothing is abnormal (sex causes pain etc, weird discharge) which could mean there is an infection. If there is any cause to be worried head to the doctor. Its not worth being embarrassed because lots of people do this on accident.
I'm not giving you a safe sex lecture here just a suggestion. Since you use condoms you should have them around. So, use a condom on anything that you are inserting into her anus including fingers etc. The lube on the condom and extra lube should help make it a more pleasurable experience and then when you are done with anal play the condom can be thrown away and the toy or the finger can be used elsewhere with no concerns.

hey! thanks for the fast and honest reply, i really appreciate it
i learned alot from that one post and my only choice is to wait and take action as soon as it happens..
hopefully nothing.. but if so, i'll know what to do
thanks alot!
edit
oh and when i meant safe sex, i meant actual intercourse and such..
but i guess doing anything sexual is potentially risky and i wasnt necessarily being safe =x
i apologize for the wording in my first post about "spare me the safe sex lecture"
didnt mean it the way it sounded
but thanks again!
