How you understand the color of blood is incorrect. Veinous blood is dark in color because of its lack of oxygen. Blood doesn't just absorb oxygen when exposed to air. Small cuts with bright red blood come from capilary bleeding. Example. If you've ever had someone draw blood on you and leak some on accident. It won't turn bright red because for blood to dissolve into red bloodcells it must enter the bloodstream through capillaries in the alveoli first. (Thus being diffused into the blood and combining with the RBC's Hemoglobin)
Still not green, as previously noted if you've ever have donated blood. There is little to no oxygen that reaches the blood taken. It is still not nor will it ever be green. Blood is shades of red with some black/blueish undertones but is and ever will be red.
