ok so im 22 and i did have unprotected sex and 2 days later i had a itchy and not even a burning sensation, it was like something was blocking the flow of urine. At that point i was drinking quite excessively for over a month, but so had my friends. So i only started experiencing the itching while and immediately after urinating and recently i get a slight itch a few times a day without urinating. I am in a area without laboratory testing, but my personal doc took the symptomes and ran with it thinking it was an STD then immediately giving me a massive shot in the behind with a side dose of doxycyline and zithromax. Something for everything is what he said. Well the next week the sensation never worsened but never got better but i would also notice an itch around my prostate area. so i talked to doc again. he had me do a simple urine in a cup and dipped a color coated stick in it.. it was purple. Positive for some type of infection. The specific type unknown. He said that the stick read the white blood cell count. and he then gave me another shot for stds. I now personnaly believe that it was not an STD from the start. Ive never had any discharge or any other symptom besides this itch. i then found that drinking massive quantities of water helped a lot. If my urine was clear i didnt have any sensation at all. Its like my body cannot stay hydrated. i can drink a gallon a day and 2 trips to the bathroom later its back yellow. Im truly at a loss here and it will be 2 months before i can get an actual doctor. if i can diagnose this thing and get the proper meds if applicable with out the hospital trip then ill be fine. So ive read a lot of these and it seems to be several MILLION possibilities. UTI, Yeast Infection, prostate infection cysitc idk what. But im 22 soooo lets rule out the BS please!
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
I've had the itching sensation in my urethra for about a week now, but the last time I had sex was about 2 weeks before I got the itching. And it was my first time too, so. Is it likely that i have gotten Chlamydia?
Allright. I came to this post because I too had an itching in my urethra.
I had unprotected sex with a girl, but the problem didn't really coincide with the sex, and the symptoms.
My symptoms included, and itchy urethra that started at the tip that felt better when I scratched it by pushing it together with my thumb and finger, and a slight burning sensation when urinating every once in a while. Urinating kinda scratched the itch too. And I was urinating noticeably more frequently and in small amounts.
I did NOT have a discharge of any kind.
From research I did, there were three possibilities in my mind
It was an STD
It was a bacterial urinary tract infection (UTI)
Or it was a Yeast infection (A fungal infection)
The first thing I did (before seeing a doctor) was go to the pharmacy section of my local walmart and pick up "AZO TEST STRIPS: URINARY TRACT INFECTION Test." They were about 6 bucks, and right on the shelf, no embarassing things with getting some high college student to open a box for you, no ID required, and it came with three strips. Easy to follow instructions.
It tests for 2 different things in your urine "Leukocytes" Aka white blood cells, and "Nitrates" which are chemicals emited by certain kinds of little tiny germies.
This is what they don't tell you:
Test positive for White blood cells -> Bacterial (EVERY kind of bacteria including Syph, Chlamydia and Gonnerhea)
Test positive for Nitrates -> Could be bacterial, could be fungal
+ White BC and - Nitrates -> Bacterial (this is what my test results were)
- White BC and + Nitrates -> Fungal
+ White BC and + Nitrates -> Bacterial Most likely ecoli or many other bacteria that you can get from anus sex, or just normal Every day life
Then I went to a doctor, took a pee test, she came in about an hour later and started asking me questions.
How much water do you drink on a daily basis? Not too much
Do you drink alcohol frequently? Oh hell yeah
Do you work in areas where you are prone to sweat? Yes I do
Has your partner complained about having "A yeast infection" No
Have you been taking more trips to urinate?
This last question caught me off guard, I hadn't noticed it till this time. But the urinating helped scratch the itch, and of course my johnson was kinda itchy and I just had to pee more., so I said "Yes"
Then she says "I'm about 95% sure you have a bacterial UTI. If you were showing symptoms of an STD, It would burn like hell EVERY time you took a piss, and you'd have a (pus) discharge. (It was formerly known as "the drip" for this reason)
Also, being dehydrated increases your risk of UTI's dramatically. Alcohol, sweating, not drinking enough water etc Dehydrate you.
I DECIDED TO GET TESTED FOR STD'S ANYWAY..THEY TOOK A URINE SAMPLE AND THAT WAS IT. Pee in a cup, three days later they tell you. Unfortunatley for me, a regular UTI is MUCH more dangerous than an STD. I only have one working kidney, and normal UTI's can spread to your kidneys and waste you like rambo. So you get some 4 dollar antibiotics and you're on your way.
If you do have an STD, don't worry. It's embarassing, and also a wake up call to your sex life, but it's really not that bad, It's easier to than catching a cold when you think about it. Would you sleep with a girl that was coughing and barfing? Nope, If there weren't any symptoms that she had a disease you just got unlucky, don't hate yourself, and consider yourself lucky it wasn't 15 years ago. They used to have to shove a foot long q-tip down your weiner (Which really sucked) now they can just take a piss test.
Also, Chlamydia and Gonnerhea can be CURED with a SINGLE dose of antibiotics, however, they are special antibiotics. Penecillin and other common antibiotics have no effect. But to my knowledge, Chlamydia can be cured with a single gram (4 tabs of zythromax) and Gonnereha can be cured with a penutbutter shot (Huge shot in your butt) Most doctors will also put you on a another antibiotic for a week or ten days just to be sure (trust me, you want to be)
If you are treated for an STD, they will treat you for both. Getting a shot, taking a gram of zythromax, and then ten days of doxycyclene is the equivalent of antibacterial thermonuclear warfare: That will take out everything.
Make sure you take the entire dose. If you miss the last day, you'll still have bacteria in there that were strong enough to survive their own personal holocaust, you wont feel any symptoms, but they'll be there and reinfect you with germs that antibiotics don't kill. THEN you're F*d
However, if symptoms continue, you need to go back to the doctor. In this case, it's not an STD, and they need to put you on a different antibiotic. Or you have some special disease nobody knows about...Like on house.
Yeast infections are also possible. Their symptoms include burning skin around the the area and or burning urination. Drinking cranberry juice and taking acidophilus suppliments (Or eating yougurt or cottage cheese) will also help. But yeast infections are just a pain, not really too dangerous, BUT antibiotics will have no effect.
But if you don't know...Go see a doctor, whatever the case is, when in doubt (especially about your weiner) go to a doctor. And no matter what the case is, it'll probably not be a problem next week.
By the way, I don't have medical insurance either. This whole thing cost me $250 but $90 of that was for my off site STD test, they offered to just treat me for STD's and normal bacterial infections without testing me. But in that case, I wouldn't be able to tell if my girl was sleeping around on me or not, so I went with the more expensive option. So go get $160 dollars, the perscriptions are CHEAP especially at WAL MART, my antibiotics were $4
Hope this helps

hi just thought id share my expirience and hope this will help others i have had the same symptoms ichy urethra and anus it was driving me crazy i went to the doctors and the doc said he thought it was a male yeast infection so prescribed me some canesten hc (clotrimazole hydrocortisone) for the itch on my anus and then swabed my urethra :-( to test for an infection. anyway i used the cream as prescribed and within 2 days my anus was completely itch free XD . my test results then came back but showed up negative. this really stressed me out and i did not want to go back for another swab so i got to thinking. if the cream cured one itch then surely it could cure the other anyway long story short i used a medicine syringe to direct some of the cream into my urethra last night the cream was in there for about an hour before i needed to pee. anyway when i woke up this morning the majority of the itching has gone i will be trying this again before i go to bed hopefully this will cure it i will keep you informed anyway hope this helps.
ok so ive had my test back and they came back negative for a yeast infection and evan after using the cream the iching has come back im stumped again gonna go for more tests again soon

Hey ya'll, I kinda made sense of all this... In my case it started just the same as all...got antibiotics few days later, it's all good... When you have sex bacteria in the girl enters your urethra which is easily affected by micro-organisms. Mostly its just an infection from your body protecting itself from that 'outsider'. Word of advice, coax your partners into takin a bath with anti-bacterial soap before sex to create a medium that discourages the bacteria from being active...good luck
Most of you probably have an UTI otherwise known as a Urinary Tract Infection
i just experience same and on medication now... it has nothing to do with std's (in my case)... it's just that i have this what my mother told me before a "gambler's desease"... i don't want to get out of the table so i hold my pee... plus less water intake and wallah!!!.. i got urinary tract infection.... so doctor gave some antibiotis etc etc.... now i'm in my 3rd day of medication and about 60% better...
We all have the same thing: Yeast. The problem is that most doctors will just treat you for bacterial infections and will only look further if there is some kind of penile discharge or visible lesion. Everybody has many strains of yeast living on their skins. Your own strains, the ones you've had for a long time, don't bother you since we have strong immunity to them and they don't usually trigger a histamine response. New strains, like the ones we may pick up from a new sexual partner, are a bit different in that they may inhabit the mucous membrane covering the interior of the urethra and may trigger a histamine response whenever they overgrow. Yeast, while not technically an STD, can cause other serious problems in the long run such as prostatitis, and possibly even prostate cancer later in life (some of the metabolic by-products of yeast have been shown to be carcinogenic). The solution to this is a course of an antimycotic medication such as Fluconazole to eliminate the yeast from the inside out. The thing is that most doctors will not, for a number of reasons, treat these kinds of infections and will tend to let them "run their course". Antimycotics are for the most part considered dangerous due to their liver toxicity, but must people tolerate them quite well. If you want the itch to go away you need to keep telling your doctor that the itch is really bad, even if it isn't, and convince them to give you something for the yeast. I'll go back to my doctor once more and if he doesn't do something about this itch, I'll buy the Fluconazone myself when I go on vacation. In Mexico and many other countries these drugs are sold over the counter. I'll just have to have a vacation with no alcohol since all the azole-class medications inhibit alcohol metabolism and one can get really sick if consuming alcohol while taking this medication.
Hi im a 21 year old male, and last week i had unprotected anal sex with my girlfriend, i know am having a itching sensation in my tip on my penis, i have been teseted for stds and have been clean.
Any thoughts?
i have the issue of an itchy urethra and can only relive it by "scratching". I have been with my fiance for the last 3 years and only ever had sex with one other woman around a year ago. The problem has just started and never before bothered me. I was wondering if it could be a yeast infection cause by using spit as a lubericant with masturbating. Maybe?
I had very similar symptoms:
- Itchiness after ejaculating and sometimes urinating
- Started at the tip, after a few days the entire urethra was inflamed and itchy
- Squeezing/Applying pressure did provide some relief
- Started experiencing mild burning during urination
- No Discharge
Finally got it checked out, and tested positive for Chlamydia
I read this post before I went to the doc and there were a lot of questions and hardly any answers. So I thought I'd share my conclusion. Good luck everyone.. chlamydia is about the most benign STD you could hope for so don't get too stressed about it!
What antibiotic did the doctor prescribe to you for this?
im a female,my problem started after i drank a lot of softdrink(coke, sprite etc.).the next day when i peed i felt a pain and discomfort cause my pee just stopped,by then i thought its just U.T.I so i followed what my mom said that i have to drink fresh coconut juice.after a while, the more i pee the more i get a sense of relief cuz it doesn't hurt anymore and i got to pee fully. .after a few days my pee started to stop again wenever i go to the bathroom.it doesn't really hurt now but the outer part of my urinary hole itches.is it still u.t.i or something else?
