i too have the same problem. lumps on most of my fingers. they have been and gone before. iv seen many of "experts" about this condition but so far have no answer. i am also27 and healthy as far as i know. one of my theories is it has something to do with cold temperatures or air humidity or lack of it? any other theories or ideas on treatment i would love to hear
i had a lump the size of a five pence piece on my third left finger, was quite tender and started getting bigger, i was told by a doctor it was a cyst and would dissapear in time, well i wasnt happy with this diagnosis and got a second opinion, was told that the lump was something called a ganglion(if thats how its spelt) and was reffered to a surgeon to have it removed, had my surgery yesterday (14th aug 2008) and they have found a tumour, ,my advice to anybody who is worried is please go and see your doctor!! and if your not happy, get a second opinion!

My fingers don't really hurt persay. These lumps are underneath my skin and look red. They prevent me from wearing my rings and are only on three fingers of my right hand. Sometimes they come and go, once or twice a year. They are not warts by any stretch of the imagination. They are underneath my skin and they make my hand feel Hot! I went to the doctor a few years ago and nothing came of it. I also have Renauds syndraum, a condition which makes your fingers go completely numb and not have any blood in them when it is cold. Just wondering if this coincides with what is going on?
I'm 42 and have these same painful bumps that come and go. And all the doctors agree it has todo with the sweat glands in my palms. I only get them in spring and summer, when the weather changes, heat and humidity seem to be the underlining factor. Not much can be done unless I move to a diff climate. Good Luck.
I too have had lumps arise on my knuckles - the first when I was 24 (am now 39). I just got a new one. This makes 4 and the first one never went away. It has been speculated that they are calcium buildups or some kind of arthritis with no definitive answers from any Dr I have seen yet. This new one hurts (as they all do) and it is on my left index finger on the joint closest to my fingertip.
I am taking it to my new Dr on Tuesday. We'll see what she thinks...

im 17 and i also have these lumps on my hands, most are on my right hand which is my prefferred so i thought it was because of my writing and drawing, which would make sense but with it on my left as well, im not so sure. i have just the 6 on my left hand and about 15 on my right. im not entirely sure what they are and my parents aren't exactly helping, but it sounds a little like Ganglion Cysts but smaller. mine have never gotten really big. i have a habit of picking and scraching at them, most are filled with liquid, others are just air, but after i pick off the skin, a scar is left most times and they sting for a day or two. i crack my knuckles as well and that also points to ganglion but still, they are too small. i forget about them most days but when i brush my fingers agains something or type or draw they hurt and i have to keep to a few select fingers. if anyone has any idea what this is, or any ideas, it would be greatly appreiciated if you could write them up here.
i have a simaler thin but my bump is hard, yellowy, and a couple of brown spots and its grown on another finger wat is it!my friend really scared me when she said "maybe its cancer" morgie dont want cancer!
To all the people who say these lumps are warts... you'd have to be a complete imbecile to not recognise the difference between a "lump" and a "wart". For the love of God... please refrain from offering your "advice".
my dad has some hard skin on the second joint of his finger it seems to be risen but theres clear skin over the top of a white hard skin surface. its sore to touch to much and im not sure what it could be. does anyone have anything i can do?? or anything that can help him??
I have these as well. They started off just on my left hand (there are now five lumps on my left hand) but now I have a few on my right hand, as well as two on my left foot, a large one on the front of my left shin and a medium sized one on my lower right leg. They do not seem to be filled with fluid or air, and are definitely not warts. They're pretty solid and painless, except if I bump the ones on my legs they hurt horribly and the ones on my hands interfere with me playing guitar. What should I do?
I'd say it's 'Ganglia', (AKA 'Synovial Cysts'.) Then again, I'm not even slightly a doctor.
Happened to me today, it was on the my middle finger, right on the knuckle below your knuckles? i dont know but it felt reallly hard like a bone, so i pushed it with my fingernail extremely hard and it went away. Im guessing its a build up of fluids.
When you used bacon was it cooked bacon or uncooked bacon? How long did you keep it on fingers, methodology, etc.
Haha, there is a huge difference between these lumps on the fingers and warts. First of all, if they dont hurt theyre not blisters or warts, they are like skin built up. Second of all, i think some people have noticed that you can cut them off and it wont hurt, its only skin. It will grow back thoigh. Third reason, they are likely located where you hold your pencil, it would start hurting imediatly if a wart was just starting to grow there.
This might not be the case for everyone, but mine is right were the finger bends so i think its that position plus its were my pencil sits in my hand.
