Hi I have been taking trazodone for 2 months. It works great hope I don't get addicted to them
I had to taper off ATIVAN and finally now just taking 150 mg TRAZODONE by itself. It's not working that great...sometimes waking up every 2-3 hrs .....wonder if I should increase to 175 mg? Did if I stop the ATIVAN too soon. Wish I didnt have to take anything....Insomnia has gotten the best of my nights since beginning of menopause 11 yrs ago.
in the future you will want to taper off the drug, this is the same with any antidepressant.
I'm a little confused as to what you were doing. You said you were drinking lots of caffeine in order to keep working 'til 3am. Then you had an alcoholic drink to take the edge off the coffee. Your system was on a high, then you took it down with wine. On top of all of t his, you took approximately 60mg of Trazodone which caused you to feel drowsy & clumsy.
It isn't any wonder. Your system didn't know what to do...first if was high, then it was pulled down, then fed a sleep aid.
I honestly don't think you could blame the Trazodone..
I had the worst nightmares ever when taking this medicine for sleep! Will not take again..
If you read the information you received with your script from the pharmacy, you would realize that the sore throat is a side effect that should be reported to your physician as it is an allergic reaction.
no it's not - for me. It was quite easy to just go every other night till rest of my bottle was gone. I am back on it again.
I take trazadone, klodopin, and trileptol for bipolar disorder and it seems that in the moring i feel GREAT! but i wears off throught the day...even taking trileptol twice a day and klodopin 3x a day. Is it possible trazadone is affecting me even after i wake up and wearing off?
I just started taking Trazedone - 50 mg to help with severe insomnia. I've only tried it three nights so far -- two this week and one about a week ago. The first time I took it, it did help me to fall asleep and to sleep for a longer period than usual. I woke up wanting to stay in bed and go back to sleep. When I did get up, though, once I brushed my teeth and did my morning routine, I perked right up and was ready for the day. It's been so long since I've felt that way. It didn't help me to sleep 6 or 8 hours or anything, but I think I got a solid 5 hours, which is more than I've had in the last twenty-three years except when under surgical anesthesia. The last two nights, however, I took the Trazadone at about 10, thinking that it would make me sleepy and then I would get into bed, I worked on the computer in the meantime. Well, both nights I didn't get to any kind of sleep until after 4:20 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. respectively. Tonight, I intended to take it at about 8 p.m., but didn't get around to it until 9-ish. I'm feeling just a BIT sleepy now and wondering if it would be harmful if I took another 50 mgs right now to help me actually GET to sleep.
Perhaps you're having an allergic reaction. Notify your MD.
I have been taking trazodone for about a year.... 100mg a night. It was prescribed for sleep. Its done it's job. As with ALL sleep aides there is a dependency that makes sleeping without nearly impossible. IMO it's not about addiction to the drug as much as your body becomes very reliant on the medicine, and it takes some time to adjust. As for the hangover affect, again like them all, if you don't get a solid 8 plus hours (for me 9plus) you are going to feel washed out. Nothing a 20 min nap cant cure.
The sides to this med vs the likes of Ambien, not even close. Ambien is a dark, dangerous drug. I took it for several months to find I was living a seperate life while on the drug. Getting up eating, sending emails, and text messages, just crazy! I would have NO memory of some of the things I did.
hi, I have had severe insomnia for awhile, I have been taking trazadone and it helps with sleep, also without any fuzziness in the morning!
