Ive had the same problem now. It just came back last night after I had a clean throat for about 3-4 years. And here's a suggestion (this might not be true for everyone). The cause of my throat swelling is a special kind of asmtha attack. Its based on seasonal viruses or allergies (that can not be prevented). And using an inhaler helps alot. I have the same symptoms as most of you people: swollen throat, difficulty breathing, pain in my ears and chest. And I used to think it was just food allergies, but considering how much using an inhaler has helped im convinced its just an asmtha attack.
