I have it too, since about 5 years (I'm 25) with ups and downs and like the person in the quoted part said, I think it's caused by lack of confidence (about overweight I'm not so sure).

    First some data about me:

  • 25 years

  • 1,94 meter (6,36 feet), 85 kg (187 lbs) which is a BMI of 22.6 (which is normal, overweight is >25)

  • Not very sporty

  • Sweat in upper but/crack, no color or what so ever, seems to smell different then normal sweat from armpits or whatsoever (yes, also after showering haha :P)

  • I sweat a bit more then average although my hands and feet can sweat a lot when it's hot but still, it is possible that I'm ONLY
  • sweating from my but.

  • Have this since about 5 years

  • yes it sucks

  • I never been to the doctor for it

  • Have quite a low self esteem and stress in my life

Alright,

What I think is the biggest cause, is stress or low self esteem. I noticed that it comes (very quickly sometimes) when I'm nervous about something. Occasionally it can be so bad that even my stomach starts hurting. Normally, when I'm relax I don't have any problems. For instance on my backpack trip I almost never had this problem, which I think was due to low stress.

Another reason why I'm quite sure that it's caused/related by/with stress or state of mind is that, when I start drinking beer, it will go away after a while (once getting tipsy :) ). Beer is however also a cause for getting a wet bottom. When I've been drinking the night before, I quite often have it for no reason (at least I don't think I'm stressed at that time). Also coffee causes me to get a wet ass very fast (but normally it's over when I go take a sh*t)

The weird thing is that sometimes it happens without any signs: I don't feel stressed or what so ever (at least I think), I didn't drink beer but still I get it for some reason (I think however that it's possible that your mind is tricking you).

So, to summarize what are in my eyes the causes:

  • 1st cause (and biggest cause): Emotional/Psychological

  • 2nd cause: Alcohol and definitely coffee

  • 3rd cause: Food? Not sure how big the influence is about this

Now, I'm wondering who has already been to the doctor with this and what was his or her advise? Is there some kind of medication? I haven't seen a reply yet of someone who has been to the doctor so that's why I'm wondering (I think about going btw). Of course, the best thing to do is to boost your self esteem and what so ever but this is easier said than done and then there is still stress which is caused mainly by my job.

Then some tricks I do to cover it up:

  • Wear dark jeans

  • hang a jacket/backpack over your ass.

  • I tried some anti but that doesn't work at all

Alright, that's about it.

Good luck!

ps. Why do half of the BBCodes and HTML codes not work?

I have recently developed this problem as well. I only need to sit down for 15 to 20 minutes. Once I stand up, my entire butt and the backs of my thighs are wet from sweat. I don't normally sweat profusely; in fact, I am pretty average when it comes to sweating. Now whenever and wherever I sit down, my butt sweats A LOT! There is one other place on my body that sweats profusely for no reason, and that is the back of my neck. It actually soaks the base of my hairline. It doesn't matter what temperature it is; this is a regular occurrence. Sometimes, at night, I will wake up, and the neck of my nightgown will be soaked. I have to get up and change. My doctor has suggested that I might be going into peri-menopause, but I am only 36 going on 37.

after googling "sweating from my bum bum" this topic came up.
mine is/was caused by anxiety.
you have to visit a doctor and he'll give your a prescription for some deodorant
which has lots of aluminum in it.
it does help folks, try it and report back.

Another guy....same problem. Maybe a useful trick:
I wear cotton stretch boxers that I really pull all the way up in the crack, sorta like a tanga. Maybe uncomfirtable the first time, but allow your ass to respire

I AM CURRENTLY 14 YEARS OLD AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IT IS CALLED HYPERHYDROSIS WHICH MEANS EXCESSIVE SWEATING DUE TO UNCONTROLLABLE HORMONE SECRETION.IT STARTED WHEN I WAS 13 YEARS OLD.I USED TO WEAR A PULLOVER TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY TO HIDE MY FLABBY BODY. IM NOT OVERWIGHT BUT QUITE UNFIT WHICH IS BECAUSE I HAVE A HIGH METABOLLIC RATE. I SEEM TO LOSE WEIGHT VERY SLOWLY AND GAIN WEIGHT VERY FAST. ITS A PROBLEM . SO I HAVE A DOUBT WHETHER WEARING THE SWEATER CAUSED THE EXCESSIVE SWEATING . ITS VERY EMBARRASING AND MY LIFE IS HELL. STILL YOU SHOULD BE POSITIVE AND NOT CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK. ITS SOMETHING YOU CANT HELP . PEOPLE USUALLY USE YOUR DISORDER TO TEASE AND PROBE YOUR FEELINGS BUT YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. THERES NOTHING MUCH THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS . SURGERY IS NOT ADVISED. TRY WEARING DARK PANTS AND SPORTSWEAR. AND IN SCHOOL TRY AVOID EXERCISING TOO MUCH. WE HAVE TO COPE WITH THIS DISORDER PEOPLE SO LETS NOT GET SERIOUS ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK.IT DOSENT MATTER WHAT THEY THINK
THANK YOU GUYS AND ALL MY SUPPORT

hello everyone,

I too have this annoying problem of sweaty ass. i'll be honest with you i have found many ways to lighten it or even get rid of it for a short while. i'v had this problem for a while. I guess right after high school it started to get annoying, way too annoying. I switched from boxers to briefs and thats when sweat started to show through my pants. I'm not overweight, although i once was chubby when i was young i did lose weight.

I don't want to ramble on too much but i'll go ahead and tell you what i think the cause might have been and what i found to treat it. At one point in my life i started taking laxatives frequently and i thought that might have been the cause of my problem. First things first, get your self new fresh 100% cotton boxers, do not wear briefs specially on hot days. Secondly, get your self a body shaver. You need to first check the area around your privates and make sure the hairs are not clogged with anything sticky (midnight and morning wankers) that could be the number one cause of your problem. So begin shaving the area around your crotch all the way to the back end of your privates. This step is important, and should be done every so often, and try not to make a mess when masturbating as it is hectically the cause in my opinion. make sure you keep your private area clean, wash often, dont be afraid to put some water on toilet paper and clean yourself.

I am not in anyway saying this is the 100% solution to your (everyone) problem but it should help a lot. as of the smell problem, i never really had a stench problem, my sweat doesn't stink unless i work out. I hope this helps, i am from the middle east, and its hot as hell here and at one point when i moved back from the US i thought this was normal, its not you gotta find a way to keep it under control like any other problem. If your too lazy then surgery might be the best option for you.

My symptoms are similar. Started about 3 years ago. I am 34 now and not overweight.
Early on, my rear only sweated when I needed to have a BM. Eventually I would sweat through my pants in my seat at work even when I didn' tneed to go. After going though, the sweating would stop or greatly decrease. I wore only dark slacks to cover the spot.
- Eliminating caffeine has helped a lot. But even a sip of tea or cola will start the sweating, and I will be on the pot often the rest of the day.
- If I take in any caffeine and have to have a BM, it will stink horribly, unusually.
- If I take in any caffeine, my stomach will make the loudest, wettest sounding gurgling noises and I will have to have a BM.

I'm managing the problem but I am so sick of Sprite and Root beer at restaraunts and parties, etc. I was given a prescription for hyperhydrosis but never got it filled. With the BM stuff, I don't see that being the cause. Don't think it's IBS either. I have no pain, ever.

Has no one had a diagnosis? I don't even know what kind of specialist to see. This greatly impacts my quality of life.

I am a 24 year old male who completely sympathizes with all of you. This "condition" has not only been embarrassing, but has completely handicapped my self confidence and caused me to have extreme paranoia. I do not go outside to do anything active during warm temperature, and I try to avoid social gatherings. Basically, this problem has caused me to become a social pariah.

I experience excessive sweating around my butt and groin when any of the following conditions are met:

1. It's hot or even slightly warm
2. I'm doing something active, regardless of temperature
3. I'm nervous, anxious, stressed, or uncomfortable
4. I'm sitting for an extended amount of time.

I cannot attribute this problem to anything other than stress, fear (of the problem itself), and temperature. Usually, it's a vicious cycle. For instance, if it's hot outside and I'm sitting somewhere in public, then I'll have fear that the problem will occur, which then causes me to stress out about the problem, thus forming to extreme paranoia about standing up in front of people who could see a blotch of sweat on my pants.

I have been to a doctor once about this problem. I diagnosed myself with having hyperhidrosis and presented this to the doctor. After having to demonstrate why I felt I had hyperhidrosis, the doctor prescribed me with a roll-on antiperspirant. I stopped using it after the first application, as it caused an incredibly uncomfortable burning/stinging sensation on my butt cheeks (where it was applied). Convinced that no medication could resolve this issue, I have not gone back to the doctor for this reason since.

In doing so, I have let this problem take over my life, dictating what I can and cannot do. It has been the sole catalyst for my diminished social skills, lack of participating in physical activity or exercise, and a reformatting of my hobbies. I am not the same person I was 7 years ago, when the problem first started happening.

I have read/researched many times, and found a number of "home remedies" that people have proclaimed to work. Nothing that I've tried has helped. Seeing how this problem tends to be more psychological (in my opinion), I have decided to try a new "medication". If this problem is mostly attributed to fear/stress/anxiety/nerves, then perhaps what I need is marijuana. I'm not talking about getting baked out of my mind every day, but rather using it in small, medicinal doses to help calm and relax my nerves. If this solution helps, I will post the results. I'm not suggesting that everyone go out and smoke pot, but it sounds like it might be just what I need.

im not sure i would recommend pot...im not sure when this problem started but it was probably around the same time as another one of my problems that caused me stress and anxiety (psychological problem), now however i notice when i smoke pot all i think about is the problem and then my anxiety would be greatly magnified, its not as bad when I'm sober but I still feel like it happens

I've always seemed to have this problem. It's embarrassing for me to sit somewhere for too long because the people around me will smell the sweat from where ever it is I'm sitting when I get up. Sometimes I sit in that one place for an excessively long time just so I make sure that when I get up, no one is around to smell it.

Sometimes I come off as lazy when I invite friends over to play video games or watch movies and can't get up to serve and treat them because I'm ashamed. I just end up telling them to do it themselves or find an excuse for us all to get up at the same time.

Hell, even now, It's quite hot in my apartment, I'm sitting on an old pillow so as not to make the couch smell.

This happens even after I've taken a shower.

What you may have is Hesxel's Hyperhidrosis, but I can not diagnose you. And, about the only way you might be lucky enough to get a diagnosis is if the doctor you discuss your cituation with has it too. Most doctors have a tendency to simply brush off sweat as insignifigant. But every body is different. There are sweat glands all over the body, including the crotch. You all know how uncomfortable this condidtion is; no one has to tell you. Men and women suffer from crotch sweating, it is an ordeal, embarrasing, humiliating, uncomfortable and it stinks, literally. Rashes, bumps, skin irritations, itching, it is a living nightmare trying to keep this area dry. I made something that wraps around the crotch of ones briefs to absorb moisture, even when it rolls down the bum, and they change out in seconds, made of 100% cotton. It is completely washable, hundreds of times and so comfortable. I call them coolwrapps. The extra p stands for perspiration and they have helped many people, myself included. Come see for yourself at

I had this for a few years now.

On cleanliness, make sure you blast your crack with very warm water and soap last thing in the shower, after you do a bowel movement. This way, at least the sweat will only smell of sweat (it seems a bit sweet, different compared to armpits, but at least no poo smell).

I get the sweats especially before a bowel movement so at least I shower soon after and I do my bowel movements at home in the morning before work. If you did bowel movement in evening it would be worse, you are likely to be socialising or at work and sweat more then.

I also get it during masturbation and sex.

Also during anxious moments, especially social anxiety.

I believe it is either sweat or maybe even condensation. But what is happening for sure is its a part of the body that doesn't get any air. That's why it more often happens when you're sitting down. Just like other parts of the body such as your beltline or where you carry a backpack. So for sleeping, if you roll onto your side for a few minutes you can get rid the sweat.

So why do we have such high temperature butts? I wish I knew why, maybe it is my diet, I don't know.

Anxiety explains some of it but not all of it.

Also, if you sit with a leg crossed underneath then it lifts your cheeks slightly and this is good for getting rid of some sweat. Standing up can be good too, unless you're in a socially anxious state, then its bad.

Only drugs I am taking are omeprazole 20mg daily but that never gave me this problem for years until 3 years ago this started.

Also I recommend wearing shorts with holes in them that breathe, sports style, they help me a lot to air the butt. You can even buy a butt fan. Also I will probably buy a beaded wooden seat for work. If anyone asks, I will say its for comfort, like accupressure. But taxi drivers use them for sweaty butt themselves.

Hi guys

i have the same problem as all of you but mine only accurs when i'm at school or i get really nervous.

im 14, not overweight (im actually really skinny) and it started half way through year 9 for me and i just want my life back, i want to return school for a new year feeling fresh and happy, not having to worry about my problem.

so i have plucked up the courge to go the doctor, im hoping he tells me i can have a surgical treatment, where they either cut or clamp the glands that stops the excessive sweating from accurring.

i recommend any one with this problem to see a doctor and mean most of you are guys right? well im a girl and im gonna grow a pair and speak to my doctor

Good luck guys x

I have this problem too. I'm 17. It's August 2011 and I first started too get this problem in March 2011, where I live it isn't hot and doesn't tend to go over 20oc. All it takes for me is too walk too school which is about 20minutes and my ass will pour with sweat, it doesnt sweat when the sun isn't out, only when the sun is out, so if I go out at 5:00am and its like 18oc i still don't sweat, just when the sun is out and it's kinda hot. It's really embarrasing and it's ruining my social life, I dont want to go out or to school or anything, cause when i sit down i leave a massive wet patch on my seat at school. im not overweight, im pretty skinny, also the sweat does not smell at all, goldbond body powder has not helped, either has any strong deodrants, now im using perpsi for excessive sweating, i've used it for 2weeks so far and it hasnt helped, it's made for HYPERHYDROSIS, and it still so far is yet too have worked for me, im really sick of it and now i don't feel normal around my friends, i dont know what brought it on, but nothing is getting rid of it at all..
