I'm sure by now you are feeling much better, but I just wanted to tell you a little about my experience. I'm a girl and my first outbreak was pure torture. It started with just a few blisters and developed into a horrible, disgusting outbreak all over down there. My skin was literally peeling off and I could barely walk or sit down. I couldn't sleep because I was incredibly itchy every single night. This went on for over a MONTH. It took that long for my first outbreak to heal. Then, miraculously, I didn't get another outbreak for 2 years! I have now had herpes for 4 1/2 years and have had about 3 outbreaks that I can say for sure were actual outbreaks. There have been a handful of times where I just felt itchy but didn't see anything, so I'm not positive it was related. So, the point of my post is this: it does get easier! If each outbreak was like the first one, I don't think I would've been able to handle it. That was one of the most painful, depressing moments of my life. Thankfully our bodies learn to handle the virus better as time goes on. Hope you're coping better now and are outbreak free!
I have found Valtrex to be incredibly helpful but am experiencing something now like a very bad outbreak that has extreme muscle pain, lesions and throbbing pounding headache. Anyone else have this? It's been 5 days. Lucky its the holidays.
Also, adding tee tree oil to the epsom salt helps me a lot. It's a natural antiseptic and helps heal the lesions
after reading all your stories i still don't have a clue of what this could be. i first contracted hsv2 about 18yrs ago and after struggling with it the first couple of years it got better (not really, but not worse), I originally got in on my outer left butt cheek but ten slowly but surely has been 'moving' to my anus (ouch!). This started happening in the last 5-6 years, ok i've learned to live with it, but just about a month ago i started getting a little itching down there and after a week a got an outbreak on top of the anus, usually i can sense it is healing all in all in about a week, but this time the itching continues. Anyways, i looked in the mirror and the outbreak has healed (i can see the healing scab), but around my anus -more to the side- i can see little blisters, about 2-3 and the still itch like crazy. i believe this was the original itching that i first experienced this time, the itch-blisters are not going away, and i'm starting to get a little itchy and tender near the perianal region, also a little part of my scrotum (ball sack) was itching a bit and i went to take alook and it seems it was flaking a bit (same as the original poster i'm assuming).
What could this be now, after 18 years and now getting new symptoms? I have been monogamous for the last 15 years, and have not had sex in the last year-or two- (that is a topic with a whole other story). After the confirmed outbreak i did take valtrex 1gm twice a day for 8 days, helped with the confirmed outbreak but not with the 2-3 blisters below that are still there and am now going in my 4th week!
I feel uncomfortable and feel that im contagious (because the virus seems to be active all the time now), what can be happening, thanks to all for listening and replying/posting!
Herpes is a serious and recurring disease which can't be cured but just managed upto a level. There are several medications available which can be used to get relief from the disease, but the best way to deal with any disease is by having some natural therapies for it. I have read about hypericum mysorense and nosodes which can be really very helpful for the people suffering from Herpes. Although, people suffering, first must do a research on it. And consult a Doctor about the ailment.
Ive found it relieves the pain a lot if you urinate in the bath. Add two hand-fulls of salt to the water to help clean and promote healing of the sores. My first outbreak was so painful i was terrified to use the toilet but its manageable that way
I am suffering through this worst outbreak since my first, blisters, awful smell, pus, etc, etc.I want to die everyday. Can't take this anymore after 11 years.:'(:$
