Hi i jave had my mierna iud in for 3 1/2 weeks and i didnt bleed at all the 1st week except the day she put it in of course but i took it out myself the day before yesterday my husband complains its stabbing/cutting hin during sex and its making me dizzy and feel like i am going to pass out well i was wondering how long you ladies bled after having it removed? im bleeding pretty heavy and it looks so bright red almos a neon color is this normal??? please hel
I am having the EXACT symptoms you described, down to the days of the week. I had to leave work at lunch today because I bled through a tampon, pad, and my pants! It's awful!!
It stopped after 17 days only after having blood work and having the obgyn prescribe a clotting pill. FYI, you take the pill 3 times a day for 5 days, it doesn't stop immediately, it finally stopped 1-2 days after finishing the pills. I will never recommend an iud to anyone. Bad news
So what was the outcome? did you ever find out about the huge blood clot?
Hello, I had my Mirena in for 5 years and it was nice, at first I'd see just a small amount of blood when I hit my cycle, then nothing for the remainder of the time. I just had it removed on November 24th and that went okay, but I have been spotting for almost 3 weeks. It would be nice to see an end to that.
I am in the same boat. I personally couldn't afford 200 removal so researched and called doctor they said I could remove it myself. So this past Saturday I did remove it and hardly any bleeding that night. But starting Sunday heavy bleeding and cramps. Like i started my period all over again but worst. It is Tuesday now and I'm still heavily bleeding. also over few yrs.gained 20lbs mood swings headaches. But apparently the 5yrs mirania has hormones and when your at the end it doesn't produce the hormones your body is use to and you start to have mood swings bloating (mine was a consistent bloating). But now it's gone no bloating no mood swings headaches and it's amazing how much a difference I feel. But the bleeding is something I could go without. Never had this bad of a period since I was younger. Just hope it's almost over and I don't bleed for weeks at a time like what I've been seeing. I feel unless I get on birth control pills it won't stop!!! Kind of scary. Hope this helps someone I know sometimes people feel alone but your not!
I know this is late but you do know that you WERENT supposed to remove it on your own right. Did you damage anything
I'm 51, had mirena removed due to continual spotting, bled 12 days, then stopped, it's been 19 days so far, I'm on top of the moon!
As.I was at my gyno asking when will my.period start its been 2 mos since.IUD removal i guess i started super bleeding as i was asking...got.home pantyliner ..panties and jeans soaked in blood. Like someone dyed.the.bottom half of my.panties red. Then random bleeding slowed down ..last.night not much
Today omg went to get daughter breakfast wearing a new pad after shower...not much blood. Then BAM so much blood went through the front half the pad ..through panties down my leg..another large clot. I feel queasy and have a headache. This is worse than bleeding after giving birth...minus the pain of stitches
Is it even possible to take it out yourself.
I just had my Iud removed Tuesday and today Friday I am bleeding with clots how horrible I was never told this was going to happen prior to having put on or after having it taken off doctor should provide more information on these things I been freaking out but now I see everyone is having the same issue oh how I wish the days go buy the feeling of walking and it just gushing out sucks!

Hi I'm in same boat! Had mirena removed about a month now after having it in for 4 years 4 months, was during period,light spotting, when it was removed, had sex day after also spotted for 3 days after removal. Since then spotting n bleeding on & off! Some for just the night and others last 3 days, took a test 2 weeks ago nearly and was negative, had slight cramping it's gone now, the mirena did stop my period for 2 years then started spotting when normal period was due. It's quite annoying as so want to get pregnant again(have 5 Ye old), not very nice spotting n having sex plus it's kind of a downer wen u do spot and so want to be pregnant
I had my period almost 2 weeks before my IUD removal, 2 days after removal.. I bled very lightly for only 3 days. I get my period every month between the 13th and 18th. I had protected sex (condom), but I'm not on BCP yet cause I'm waiting for my period.. Today is now the 26th, and still no period!!! Should I be worried?
I was under the impression my cycle would go straight back to normal after the coil was removed. But the day after my it was taken out u had bright red blood. And lots of it. I only had my period 2 weeks ago. Does any body have any idea how long this bleeding lasts for? Or what it actually is? Period? Or Somthing else? Help please?
