Hi guest, I know it will probably feel awkward and embarrassing for you but talk to your mum about it and let her see because that will be easier than saying what it might be here.

There are different types of herpes I.e. Type 1 herpes, type 2 herpes. Type 2 is from sexual contact and the other is either hereditary or passed on through kissing or eating/drinking after one another. I found out that I have type 1 herpes when I was about 12(I had not been sexually active). So it is possible to get it through non sexual contact. Although I had actually gotten a sore on my forehead (pretty rare place to have an outburst) and not my genital region.

Wow.... I'm not even a teen yet and I've got these.... I haven't been sexually active AT ALL. My mum told me to use a cream for it but it doesn't seem to help, it's very itchy. It's been there for over 3 weeks now. Should I see a doctor?

Yes same thing here. I'm 13 and I like wearing skinny jeans, so I'm guessing that the friction of me walking caused it? Did it go away by it's self?

That's what I thought and it did turn out to be herpes. Go to the doctor.

Hi I'm a nurse, and I want to let you know that putting Neosporin on the will cause a bigger infection. It covers the blister, not allowing it to "breathe".NEVER put Neosporin on a new wound/laceration/blister the first 48-72 hrs., after the area has begun healing than use. I specialize in infectious disease, and have seen & treated some gnarly infections

Herpes is a virus, not a bacteria, antibiotics would have done nothing to herpes. All herpes effects your sex life. If you have herpes, you have it forever. There is no cure. You can have hsv type 1 on your genitals and you can spread it through sexual activity.

It's not hereditary. It was passed on to you from someone else. Herpes requires skin to skin contact, you don't get it from sharing utensils. Type 1 can also be transmitted by sexual contact so you can pass your cold sores to someone's genitals and give them genital herpes.

Herpes is spread by skin to skin contact. Since condoms do not cover all the skin that could carry the virus it is still possible to transmit it while wearing condoms. Herpes is not transmitted by body fluids. The torso area, the base around the penis can be where he might be infected, the anal region, even his mouth. If a barrier isn't used to block skin to skin contact for all those places, herpes can be transmitted. There is a lot of misinformation about herpes. We really need better education so people understand the risks they are taking. I hope it turned out well for you.

Cold sores are herpes type 1. Herpes of any kind can be transmitted even if there is not an outbreak. It's called asymptomatic shedding. It's responsible for many new cases of herpes because most people know to avoid active outbreaks. Thrush is different, it's a yeast infection. You can buy a test to check if it's a yeast infection and cream to treat it at the drugstore. A yeast infection is curable, herpes is not. Once you have herpes you have it forever. Some yeast infections reoccur. Getting a yeast infection after a period is fairly common. Speak with your obgyn about a plan to deal with reoccurring yeast infections after your periods so you know what to do every month and you don't have to keep going back each time. You wouldn't be the first woman to have to deal with these. Hope you can get some relief.

Herpes requires skin to skin contact. You can not get it from sharing towels, razors, or utensils. There are other reason not to share razors but please don't spread incorrect information. Herpes is not spread via bodily fluids.
