Hey Lucy,
its strange that you have those side effects so long after surgery. My cousin had it but not for so long, (she used heating pad with distention), for her everything was gone couple months after. Most common reasons for bloating can simply be a side effect of undergoing anesthesia or medication (especially Narcotic pain medications). Fennel tea helps, maybe it can help you. For the fluids only advice I can give you is movement and exercise, this accelerate the removal of fluid. Still, If bloating persists, you should contact your physician.
Interesting that I actually typed in gastro issues a year after a tummy tuck and see so many women having the same issue wow....that is alarming! They did blood work on me and nothing so far. I am getting a scan done and they are going to check my stool. I am going to a GI doctor after for a workup. What is interesting is I have been complaining about stomach issues since my surgery. I wonder what could be the connection? I wonder if the nerves aren't working properly and causing this distress. Ok so this would suck if this is going to be forever. I have been so happy with my results that this would make me wish I never did it.
I have been trying to track down what I have done different since the last year for my stomach to feel this way...........boom......the tuck!! So I have had hella gas, my stomach is just queasy all the time and now I have hemorrhoids because my stool is mushy with white mucous in it. I know that sounds gross but these are my symptoms. I have trouble holding my stool because of the gas feeling. I too have had scan on my gallbladder and tests run that checked my stool and nothing.......everything looked normal. I am going to GI to rule out cancer, and ulcer. The more I research it seems as if it is IBS from the surgery. If it isn't cancer or something going to kill me, I will have to figure out a way to live with this feeling of being uncomfortable almost all the time. If this is truly from the surgery, I will have regrets but a regret isn't going to make us feel better so the only thing we can do is find ways to be comfortable. Keep us posted ladies!
I had this same issue and it’s terrible! Stick to a gut-healing diet and be strict with it. If probiotics make you feel worse, then you have SIBO. Fix it will ALLICIN and gut friendly diet. Kill off the bad stuff then reinnoculate.
You’ll find help on Instagram. Do a parasite cleanse and do it the right way (healing cave lady on IG)
The scar also interferes with electrical currents in the body. Find a Quantum Reflex Analysis practitioner to do mud packing and break up the scar.
Massage that scar multiple times a day to break up tissue!
God bless y’all
