Guest and others, 30 years ago I went through what all of you are experiencing, plus many more symptoms. The end result of it was a nearly complete breakdown, first physically, then mentally. I'd had 4 babies in 4 years (plus a miscarriage) babysitting others, eating poorly, nursing in the middle of the night, bed late and up early. Active in the community, self-employed to boot. Burning the candle both ends. Got Bronchitis, Pneumonia, hypoglycemia/type 2 diabetes, Shingles, Nightly Panic attacks,Panicky Sleep disorders, felt lump in throat like wearing something too tight and when I swallowed. I was only 25. No one knew what to do and it scared me almost to death...Took 2 years of Natural remedy to overcome what a miriad of Drs. couldn't help me with, except a Naturopath to get on track. Every mineral in my body was depleted! Right now I'm feeling it again in the throat and had two brief anxiety attacks in the last few weeks (one today for a couple minutes) I wanted to eliminate heart attack and stroke now that I'm older. A month ago, I experienced a new kind of stress I've never encountered. Guess I'm pioneering again! I thought I might be having pre-heart attack symptoms. Then I recognized an old "feeling". Tonight it happened again so I came home to check my symptoms and found all of you. In a way I'm relieved because I have the tools to backtrack and do what I did before. So yes, it is possible for stress/anxiety to do this to you! I've been fine for the last 30 years so I'd forgotten. I began to work out to have an OUTLET for the stress, changed my eating and quality supplements and been in the fitness industry ever since. I'm in pretty good condition and don't look near my age but menopause seems to have created another metabolic imbalance/shift and left me without some of the tools needed for this new adventure I'm facing. This is really long but my situation back then, was the worst thing that could happen to a young mom/family. Find an outlet for your stress or it will come out of your body and make it sickly. I hope this has helped to put some of you at ease especially if you've been to a Dr. and they can't find anything. Consider a nutrient rich diet, water, sleep, and start a light workout. (if you overwork, it's another stress to your body while it's trying to repair)... God richly Bless you all with success and thanks for sharing!!!

I am 28 years old and started having this problem 6 months ago. At first it is very scary as I suffered from panic attacks and had to take time off work I went to A&E a couple of times as it really made me stressed. I had a camera and there was no blockage just a swelling of the glands. You do learn to live with it, it can be very annoying but don't let it stop you doing things. If you have a camera and learn there is nothing there it puts your mind at rest and you have to find ways of dealing with the symptons. Don't panic and keep calm! I have been told it can just go on it's own I am still hoping that will happen!

I know exactly what you're going through. I have the same exact thing. I went to doctors and nothing showed up. The next stop is an endoscopy which kind of scares me. But I know I have to get it and will. You might consider going to an specialist who does that.

HI
I started with the exact same symtoms about 2yrs ago. I visited 3 different GP's who examined my neck and looked down my throat,
all said i had nothing to worry about, but you do!
It's like you have a large piece of food lodged in the back of your throat and you try to swallow hard to make it go down, but it's going
nowhere! I had a bad experience at a salon where my head was tipped back in a wash basin! I had to literally concentrate on swallowing
as i felt panic setting in!
I do believe it is a sympton of anxiety and stress as I mildly suffer from panic attacks when I am experiencing difficult situations.
My first panic attack ended up with a paramedic being called to my home an adrenelin shot oxygen and a trip to A&E, they thought it
was due to an allergic reaction but it was definatly stress related.
I manage them now by deep steady breaths and thinking calm calm calm!
Recently my father has been very very ill and that "lump" in my throat feels worse and bigger than ever! Definatley anxiety related!
Good health everyone x

8 months.. Same symptoms as everyone else. All started when I choked on a vitamin. I'm 24. Tests Done: 2 throat dilatations Two laryngoscopes tested for eosinophil esophagitis Allergy tests 4 rounds of antibiotics Antacids None of that worked. Now on my second week of neurological pills. Yes it has completely ruined my life. Trying a 2nd gastro doctor this week. Can't give up...

Hi, I have also had this thing in my throat for over a year now and it is really annoying, I went to see my doctor and said there's nothing there, but now that I read all of your comments, I finally know that other people have this and I knew that it was something. So does anyone know how I can get rid of it???

I feel as if the back of my throat tightens, and it also feels as if my throat has something at the back of it. I've had this for over 15 years. I've been to Doctors and they say the same thing, that it is to do with acids in my stomach. I dream of the day that my throat clears.

I have the same symtoms and I,ve had 7 throat surgeries for polyps and cysts n my throat . If I were u go to an Allergy Dr and let him know about your symptoms and dont let them tell u that u shouldnt have this goin on . Tell them your body lets u know and u know it more than they know your body . Ask them to do further test.

hello from cold Japan,

Happy to know that there is someone out there with the same problem as me, i am having similar issue as you are, I cant seem to focus much on my 2 weeks holiday in Japan. its hard to see the doctor here becasue of the language matter....my father is here for his heart medical check up but its no use for me to go for a check up as i cant speak much japanese.
for me i think its stress or home sick....since i got here i have been having this throat issue

The thing in your throat is just an allusion, it can feel like your choking when actually nothing is happening. Don't think about it and it will go away. I used to have panic attacks, but they went away 16 years ago because I learned that panic attacks were just allusions, reactions to stress or depression. Learn that its an allusion and it will disappear.
