I was wondering if this is Herpes Simplex or not. I get these purple blisters on my thighs and on my labia which are painful and sometimes have blood or yellowish fluid inside of them. I get a discoloration after they go away that seems to stay forever. I'm concerned. I've been tested in the past and found out after I was raped that I had the HPV virus the strain that causes cancer cells on cervix. Not Genital Warts. I'm hoping I don't have something else because I'm not sexually active. I'm scared. Please help!

Hope you get an answer to this because I have had the same thing for about 3 or 4 years now, blood filled blisters on my inner thighs, stomach, basically anywhere from my belly button down to my upper thigh area. When they finally do bust, mountains of blood and usually some puss come out (sorry this sounds so gross) , and it ends up leaving a very dark colored scar that never goes away. I went to the Dr. and was told that it was not herpes, nor was it contagious. Actually they didn't know what it was/is, and I would like to know myself what this could be. The only meds I took like crazy was Ibuprofen until a few days ago due to inner stomach problems from taking them for so many years. The inner stomach problems have gone away since I've stopped taking Ibuprofen.
I am kind of wondering if these blood blisters are from taking too many Ibuprofen every single day for so long?
I have looked in books and asked questions and looked on the internet for anyone with the same thing and this is the first time I found someone with, sounds like the same thing.
Thanks :-D

I have had the same thing for years. I think it is do to the inner seam of my jeans rubbing against my thighs, or could be from my thighs rubbing together. I am a medium sized fat lady if that makes any since lol. I have had these things for years, they don't bother me until they are ready to be popped and then they hurt like the dickens. When I do pop them after being in so much pain my eyes water and my nose runs like I just got hit in the nose. Some white to clear puss comes out followed by a massive amount of blood. I think it is just a boil or ingrown hair. Although I never seem to find the hair. It leaves a purplish scar where it was and if you touch it is seems to have a hole where the core was. That is if you can stand the pain long enough to get the core out. The bumps or boils or what ever you want to call them usually appear on my inner thigh near my pantie line or an inch I guess below...above, next to it. They only appear where my pants and thighs rub a lot. It isn't the prettiest thing in the world to see a woman's thigh marked with little purple dots, but if it bother's you ask a specialist like a dermatologist. I hope this helps.
OMG....I just read your December post. It was like I wrote it. I have the same issue......for bout 3 years now. I am so embarassed by it that I have not been back to the OB/GYN in 3 years because I am embarassed because of the appearance. My thighs and stomach literally look brusied. I wish there was something that could be purchased over the counter. I am also too embarassed to even go to a regular doctor or dermatologist about it. It also makes me uncomfortable when it comes down to having sexy time...if you know what I mean. What can we do about this? I seriously thought I was the only one in the world with this problem.
I have the same problem, and I do agree that it's caused by friction -- clothing/panties rubbing or else my thighs rubbing together (yeah, I'm a bit chubsy!). If you can convince yourself to leave the spots alone, they might not scar as badly. But I completely know how you feel!! I get the exact same thing -- usually in the summer-time when it's wicked hot and I perspire more. I also think it could be an ingrown hair, as these tend to happen most frequently just after shaving my legs.
At any rate, I don't think it's herpes or anything! I've been tested for all that stuff, and besides I'm not sure that sort of thing would show up on your thighs or belly.3

I also have this issue. I've done a lot of searching online for answers. The one that I find over and over again is that it's a blocked up sebaceous gland. I haven't done anything with that information yet, but maybe you all could find some help with this information. I sure hope so because I know how annoying these bumps are.
Wow, I thought I was the only person who had these things too. I have had them for about 7 months now. Back in August I was playing a flag football game at school and I got a scrape on my left knee. It was a common scrape but it took a good 3 weeks to heal. It got to the point where I could hardly bend my knee cause it was so sore. Now about a month after my knee healed up I started noticing these painful blood blister type things on the back of my thighs. Like everyone has said they do scar and they are pretty painful. So I went to the Dr. and I explained everything to her because I thought I could have a staff infection. However, the doctor's (plural mind you) really didn't have a clue to what it was. They talked about sweating and clothes rubbing against my skin and all that jazz. I think I am going to make an appointment with my dermatologist here in the near future to see if she can't get this taken care of. But needless to say I feel all of your pain! LITERALLY! lol by the way I am 20, 5'11, 196lbs and decently built. Just have a few extra pounds sitting over the abs right now lol
Was having the same issue after gaining weight. And it was caused by my underwear. So someone suggested a product commonly used by bikers and other atheletes.
I haven't tried it but am going to buy it and hope that the blister heals by the time I have to see my GYN. It is very embarrassing.
And yes the area becomes thick once healed. That is just the scar and it doesn't go away. Gross enough to avoid intimate moments, I swear!

I have this problem and I have found that as much as I want to pop them, if i leave them alone they go away faster. Its caused from the type of pants I wear. I was wearing tight blue jeans for the longest and around my belt area had bumps and my inner thighs. Well lately I have been wearing scrubs which is the type of pants that doctors wear incase anyone didnt know and they are kinda lose fitting around the waste and have a draw string. Every since I been wearing them my belly bumps have completely went away. I still have the bumps on my inner thighs because my pants still rub my thighs. I was thinking about buying some tight spandex shorts or something similer to wear under my pants so that my pants wont rub. These pesky bumps seem to stay around for along time and is very embaressing. I thought I had herpes or some other problems. It sure is nice to know that Im not the only one out there with this problem. Makes me feel much better. I am going to try wearing the shorts so that maybe I wont have to have intimate times in the dark. lol.
I too have had this issue for many years. I have seen a doctor for it and have been put on tetracycline, but that works until you come off of it. Many doctors will say it has to do with weight but I have had them when extremely thin and when I put weight on. What I have noticed is that they tend to flare up more around the time of my period so I believe there is some hormone relation. When I was on birth control continuously without a period, I did not get one! I feel your pain about the embarrassment! It feels like you have some STD or something when it is not. I have recently heard that it may be hidracenitis, which is hereditary. I would see if anyone in your family may be having the same issue. No one really wants to ask, but once I did, I found out my mother and all my Aunts had the same issue. If it is hidracenitis, there is no cure..I have noticed that it does help cleaning the area with hibiclens and dial antibacterial soap. I have also recently read that taking Zinc helps, but I have not tried that yet..If anyone else has any info I would love to know!
I just wanna say thanks have had the same issue ever since i had my third son. Def feel btr knowing i am not the only one and actually feel a little bit btr about asking my doc
Reading these has put my mind at ease. I recently got bumps on my inner thigh and they hurt. I have about 3 of them, they are very tender and one of them blistered up. My doctor tested me for herpes (which put me in a panic!) I'm still waiting on the results, but after reading this, I truly believe I dont have herpes. What are some of the medicines people have used? Guess this is my wake up call to lose some of this weight I've put on!!!
WOW..I was curious and did a search on this. I am glad to know that I also am not alone. I call these things similar to boils and ya..they hurt like the dickens! I get them between my legs and slightly under my butt cheeks. I am terribly over weight and I am not really worried about the scarring as I am almost 50...lol It was just nice knowing that I am not alone out there. I frequesntly ahve to get my hubby to "pop" them as they hurt so bad. I almost cry when he does that. Hint...Warm cloth to make it more porous so that a spot can open up for drainage. Sounds gross doesnt it? Mine can be quiet large...almost like an underground Mine!! it is like a lump under the skin that will bubble up and be dark.
Now the thing is..which one of us is going to do some researcha nd make something to get rid of these? :-)

My doctor says its called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. On the bigger areas that reoccur, surgery is the best option to open the skin up and remove the cores and remove the hair follicles) that tunneled into the soft layers under our skin. The green pus that comes out when these boils are active are very contagious to other areas of skin and you should do all you can to avoid contact - wash your hands very good after touching the affected area. When they are full of blood (blood is what causes the dark discoloration over time around the area) be real careful you clean the area well after it drains. There is no cure for this - even if you have them surgicly opened and removed - they can happen elswhere on the body. (Disclaimer - I am not a doctor - only telling what I have been told.)
