I just wanted to add that when, the dizzy starts, when your peripheral vision seems to be gone, when you look at something and you can only see half, 3 of your 5 fingers are numb on 1 hand, then half of your face or tonge, you forget how to say a word, or your just not able to make sense enuff to make the pain go away, its not just scary and frustrating. It makes me feel like im a hopeless mental retard. I work front desk at a motel. This last 4 days has made me affraid of losing my job. Or going to work and having something happen to me, cause 90% of the time im there alone. What would I do? Would I know to do anything? If someone was there, Would they know what to do. My right hand is half numb again now, along with the right side of my tonge. Figure that out. Its a horrible feeling. Any answers would be great.

Symptoms start with flashy tunnel like vision, then tingling in face, lips, tongue and sometimes hands and arms then leading to a mild or severe headache. Apparently it is harmless but can lead to more problems if you are a heavy smoker in later life.

Wow, and I just thought I was going crazy. I got this today for the first time (on my 22nd birthday no less). It started at my work around 4:30 pm. I work at a call center and at first it was my vision whilst I was working. In my left eye I started getting the wierd squigglyness out of the corner of my vision, whilst my right one started to really hurt. It felt like the pain was moving around behind my eyes. It got to the point that I was having issues starting to talk. I went home. By the time I got home I was feeling dizzy and had nausea, along with a really bad headache. Then a weird numbness started in the tips of my fingers on my right hand and on my lower lip. It spread across my fingers and my tongue. I decided to try and take a nap. I slept for about 2 1/2 hours. I'm awake now and still feeling kind of dizzy. I'm going to try and eat again, but I still feel sick, so I might go back to bed. This sucks.

I'm 19 years old and something similar to this happened to me last year, but I kind of shrugged it off after a bit. Today my boyfriend told me about a friend whose arm went numb a few weeks ago and she recently had to get an operation for it and nearly died, from a blood clot in her brain. It freaked me out enough to start looking into it, since you hear all the time about people suddenly dropping dead from aneurisms and things because they weren't aware of a problem for months/years.

I can't remember if this was a separate occasion but I woke up with one eye completely blurry, and it stayed like that for at least two hours and was really irritating, but I looked it up and found out I may have just been sleeping with it pressed against something, and would take a while to go back to normal. I can't remember if this was the same day, but my pinky went slowly numb until i realized there was something wrong but I thought it was just the pinky, and then quickly my other fingers went numb one by one. It was a reeeally weird numbness, not like anything I'd felt before but like my fingers just went completely dead and weren't there anymore. I couldn't control them or move them much and it was terrifying. This moved to my hand to my wrist soon after, and then slowly traveled up my arm over about an hour and finally stopped at my bicep. It never went to my face, though, and I can't remember if the half-blindness was on the same day.

I remember showering to try and get rid of it and looking it up online, neither to any avail, but the stories in this thread are too eerily similar to what happened to me. I'm still worried about blood clots or an aneurism/stroke so I'm going to go into the doctor's tomorrow, but if someone finds out what this could be, please reply! I wasn't worried until a few days ago and now I'm terrified I'm going to drop dead all of a sudden.

Hi I am 33 and have had the blurry vision and numbness start in my hands working its way through my whole body.  This first happened 5 years ago while I was holding my daughter.  I almost dropped her I was so weak.  I of course went straight to the emergency room where they did an MRI and found nothing.  Finally about a year ago I discovered that it only happened when I would turn my head far to the left.  I am wondering if it could have something to do with pinching a nerve or possibly my coratoid artery.  I am calling my Dr. tomorrow to see if there is any way to check.

im only 19 years old and i started getting migraines in the 6th grade and im now a freshman in college. I've always said i would never wish the pain of a migraine on anyone. Starting back in 6th grade i would out of nowhere get this odd tingling feeling in my foot then it would slowly and painfully move up my body to my arms and to my face then start all over again on the other side. years laterr i started having vision loss, i would just be sitting in class and all of a sudden i could only see half a word on the board and then i would get that same painfull numb tingling  feeling.  then the migraine would hit and would no joke last up to a week at a time and i was getting them almost 3 times a month. finally i went to a doctor and i had test ran and was put on like three medecins one that i took daily another was a vitamin i took daily one i took if i got a migraine  but the meds didnt help any and just made me drowsy. no one understands how fast a migraine can hit or how i can tell when im about to get one. i've tried high dosage  pain pill but they never help ive found that takin a pain pill and sleeping pill helps the best. i almost failed my 10th grade year of high school from there migraines and today i had  one for the first time in almost 7 months and it was horrible. i just feel like the doctors dont try hard enough when it comes to this because no one should ever have to go through this pain there whole life which is what i fear
