Okay this is absolutely ridiculous.
First, all of you naive girls should know that a broken hymen doesn't mean you're not a virgin. Your hymen is a mucus membrane that can rupture. This can happen when using a tampon, or a vibrator, or whatever. It doesn't have to happen with sex. It didn't happen for me until I had sex a couple times.
It may hurt some but it's not that bad. Also, bleeding for up to 24 hours after is completely normal. I mean you're not going to stop bleeding immediately. It's like a cut it doesn't just bleed for a second.
Also, this is important...If it does happen during sex the guy might freak out a little. Just a warning. I know my boyfriend thought I was on my period and he asked me. I had to explain it to him. He's and wasn't quite sure. Guys know this kind of stuff can happen but they don't expect it to happen with them, ya know?
I read a lot of these replies and they are all just a ton of complete bs. I actually experienced it and learned about it. Please if this doesn't help go research it somewhere else because as I said everything else on here is absolute c**p.

relax its probably just that your hymen isnt healed yet
im wondering if u stick your finger real far will your hymen bleed
Here is som real facts for a change
There’s no such thing as ‘breaking your hymen’ through first-time sex, using a tampon or horse-riding, according to a new myth-busting booklet about hymens produced by the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education.
One of the key messages of the booklet ‘Vaginal corona: myths surrounding virginity – your questions answered’ is that the hymen is not a brittle membrane across the vaginal opening which can be broken – and so it makes no sense to use it as proof of loss of virginity.
The hymen is a set of elastic folds of mucous tissue, located 1-2 cm inside the vaginal opening.
The first time the hymen is stretched – whether by a tampon, through penetrative sex or masturbation – there might be some pain, and minor ruptures in the mucous folds may lead to a little bleeding. However, fewer than half of women experience pain or bleeding the first time they have penetrative sex. Some women experience pain and/or bleeding even if they have had penetrative sex many times before.
As well as debunking myths about the hymen, the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education want to rename it ‘vaginal corona’ as the word ‘hymen’ comes from the Greek word for ‘membrane’, which is an inaccurate description.
“When we introduced a new term for the hymen in Swedish, ‘slidkrans’, many people commented that it was good to finally have a word that accurately described this body part,” said Åsa Regnér, secretary general for the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education.
“The vaginal corona is a permanent part of a woman’s body throughout her life,” added Regnér. “It doesn’t disappear after she first has sexual intercourse, and most women don’t bleed the first time.
“The myths surrounding the hymen were created to control women’s freedom and sexuality. The only way to counteract this is by disseminating knowledge.”
The booklet ‘Vaginal corona: myths surrounding virginity – your questions answered’ is available to download in English, Arabic and Sorani from the website RFSU. Alternatively, click here to download the English version of ‘Vaginal corona: myths surrounding virginity - your questions answered’

"You'ven't"? Hmmmm, a double contraction? Do I hear triple? Going once, going twice, SOLD!
Check out ma doubles :O *points to the right*
If it hurts when you push in then you might be hitting your cervix, or the pathway to your uterus (and that does tend to hurt alot), But pain is normal if you go deep enough. About the bleeding, you have to keep in mind that not all girls have hymen. So you shouldn't worry. If you haven't had sex, you're still a virgin. Hope the information helped.
I do not mean to be disrespectful in any way but why are most girls and alot of people so caught up in this foreign thing you females call a hymen. whatever that is. i saw that word on a forum or thread randomly and decide to look it up and there is a billion sites on the word. I come to learn that this so called thing named a Hymen is no more different than a circumcision. So I dont see what the big hype and what the big deal people are making over a little physical change to a body part? You shouldnt be nervous or worried over the condition or state of the tarp that is over the cave between your legs. I would put my fear in a logical place and put it on child bearing.
hello my name is mariam i have never had sex i get turned on real easily and when i insert my finger i dont bleed because i dont go to far in i am afraid that my first time having sex will be pain full WHAT SHOULD I DO TO MAKE IT HURT LES

im pretty positive that it's you're hymen breaking. it's in a moist area, so it takes longer than a normal cut to heal. it could take about a week or so to get better and stop feeling sore(if u feel sore). if it doesnt get better within a week, go to a gynocologist or a free clinic if u arent willing to talk to ur parents about it.

The best way to get answers to questions you are not sure of is to ask your doctor or gynecologist. Trust me, nothing you ask will surprise them, they've heard it all before.
*sigh* I take it you are a man, right? This "foreigh thing" we "females call a hymen" is totally different than a circumcision, though why you would compare a body part to a medical procedure is beyond me. Perhaps you meant the breaking of the hymen is like a circumcision? In which case you are probably correct as they both are painful. However if a circumcision is done as a newborn, which is usually the case, the child won't remember the procedure or any pain. If it is done when he is older, it will most likely be done under anesthesia. When a girl's hymen breaks, she is older and will remember any pain she feels, since people do not usually have sex while on anesthesia.
A hymen is a membrane that partially or completely covers the vagina. Not all girls have a hymen, as some are born without a hymen or their hymen has been broken previous to intercorse through heavy exercise, horse riding, or, most commonly, bike riding.
During sex, if a girl has an intact hymen it will break and bleed. This is painful, and often scary as it is the girl's first time dealing with something like this, added to how nervous she is having sex for the first time.
Let me try explaing this with a metaphor: look at your hands. See that thin piece of skin you have between your fingers? I know it's not a perfect comparison, but let's pretend that thin webbing of skin is like a hymen. Now, let's say that webbing is broken, or ripped, very deeply so that it's like it isn't there anymore. It's probably gonna hurt like hell and bleed alot. If you weren't expecting this to happen, or didn't know what to expect when it happens, you're probably gonna be scared.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
As for putting fear in child bearing: first things first, my friend. You don't worry about taking the pie out of the oven before you worry about gathering the ingredients.

The best I can say to you is ask your girlfriend. Communicate with her. She'll know when it's best to continue, and you can ask her to tell you when she wants you to continue and what she wants you to do.
