i have been to the doctor alot the past 4 months...been treated for yeast infection..bacterial infection, but nothing helps. the brown discharge is fairly recent..but i have been dealing with everything else for a while. hope someone can help me. I have only had one sexual partner my whole life and have changed soaps and detergents for sensitive skin. please help!
Hi. You say that you have changed to soaps for sensitive skin? Does that mean that you are washing your genital area with a soap? This is not needed, if you rinse the area with water in the shower it will clean it well enough. Hope you can find a good solution.
Hey hun,
Firstly please realise that it is very likely by washing yourself with soap over your genital area will be irritating it. Do not forget that vaginal fluids are designed to kill bacteria, therefore you don't need to use soap inside the genital area. Soap is designed to be used on the ouside of your body, not inside. Just to make my point: Douching to clean you genital area is not neccessary either, it will only upset the different PH in your genital area. If this is the case, it can cause infection because the vagina cant clean properly, there fore it can cause thrush, yeast infections and urine infections as well.
It is also inportant to remember that the color and thickness of the discharge change with your monthly cycle. The discharge is thicker when you ovulate (when one of your ovaries releases an egg), when you breastfeed or when you're sexually excited. Changes that may signal a problem include an increase in the amount of discharge, a change in the color or smell of the discharge, and irritation, itchiness or burning in or around your vagina. This is called vaginitis. A discharge that's stained with blood when you're not having your period could also be a sign of a problem. These changes can occur if the normal balance of healthy germs in your vagina is upset. Many things can disturb the balance of a healthy vagina, including douching, feminine hygiene sprays, certain soaps or bubble baths, antibiotics, diabetes, pregnancy or infections
Hope this helps!
