I'm sorry about your discomfort. Could the smell be that of the old (dark) blood or is it another odor? Perhaps the particular antibiotic that you were give did not work. Did you take all of it? If not, that would effect your recovery. If you did, perhaps you need a different prescription. Stay in touch with your ob/gyn regarding your symptoms. I am sure that there is a solution to this problem. Don't give up. Keep seeking a solution, especially since you recently had surgery. Let us know how you are doing since you made your post.
I just had a partial hysterectomy by DaVinci surgery. It was done 2 weeks ago and I have had nothing but lower back and lower abdomin pain with the occasional zinger in my back or hips. I went to the e.r. 1 week after my surgery because I had such intense pain I couldn't take it anymore. I ended up with an infection which was treated with 3 different antibiotics through an i.v. and pain meds. I stayed at the hospital 5 days. Then after I got home, 3 days later, they wanted me to come in the docs office because I still had the back pain and abdomin pressure. My gyn did an exam, said everything felt good, my cuts looked good, and then she was just discussing different things including something which I cannot recall what it was called however I do remember her saying that it had a very foul odor. I didn't think anything of it until the next day when out of nowhere this gush of light brown water like substance came out of my vagina and the odor made me want to throw up. They said I was o.k. that it was just fluid collections in my body and it shouldn't happen again. Needless to say I have been wearing depends for the last 2 days because it just keeps running out of me. Now I have to wait till tomorrow of course to talk to them again and I just don't know what to do. I would love to know what this is called and why it hasn't stopped yet.
Did you find out any new info? I'm having the same problems!
