i have had this for about 6 years now. i am 18 years old. It started on my back in big clumps and then disappeared for about 8 months. It came back and now I have smaller sections around my legs, breasts and the back of my neck. My doctor told me to buy Selson Blue shampoo and put it on the areas just after bathing. This works but only for a short period of time. It comes back after about a week or so. Anyone recommend any other remedies?

I have the same problem, I only have it between my breasts. I noticed it grow and it stopped grown once it made a shape that fits perfectly when I push my breast together and when I wear a bra, so it doesn't look out of place. It doesn't hurt, itch, it used to smell when it was growing but doesn't anymore, it gets oily there since I don't have small breast. Obviously if it hurt i would go to a doctor, I've had this since November of last year.

Do you think a change in diet would help? I am 19 years old, 5 feet tall and weigh 117 pounds, I have gained weight too around 13 pounds, and have alot of tummy fat. I don't eat healthy at all >.< My drink is always coca cola.

So I was wondering if a changed in diet helped out any of you, if so please tell :$

Really if i develope any pain I'll go to the doctors :-) But other than that its just an ugly mark.

I have what sounds to be the same thing as the quotes. I am a 20 year old female and it is like alot of the quotes said in between my breasts but it is also all over my back. It is like brown spots and it is usually really itchy like now. Does anybody know what it could be?

I have quite a lot of brown spots under my left breast and between them. I'm really scared, and I'm kinda shy, so I'm not sure how to tell my mom... My eating habits are..less than healthy, so maybe that is it? I'm not sure...but I'm starting high school soon, and I'm scared that someone will see them. I know It sounds silly, but I'm really shy about these things.

Those spots are unusual but are they associated with anything? I wonder if it's not something that has anything to do with your diet since you mentioned losing weight. Do you think that might be the cause?

I honestly thing it is related to weight gain. I had gotten this once when I was 12-13 years old. I gained a significant amount of weight at that time and then lost it. Those spots went away. I have gained 7 pounds over the past 3 months and I have them again. I am 20, now. I really think it is correlated with weight gain.

I've experienced this most of my life.
It has to do with insulin and your liver pumping really hard to fight off the sugar in your system.
Its often seen in overweight people and with wieght loss they dissapear.

I had the brown spot in between my breasts, I went to a dermatologist and he told me that it was the weight gain, but then my PCP told me it was a fungus (due to sweat) and prescribed a cream and it went away in a few days.

I'm a guy, about to turn 18. I noticed I had brown spots too about a year back. It's on my chest, armpits, neck, and slightly on my stomach and inner thighs. My doctor said it was a fungi and prescribed me some selsum lotion. I've tried selsum blue shampoo, the lotion, and fungi ointment and it still wont completely disappear. Just keeps coming back.

I'm a guy - 28 and have had the same thing.

Look up Tinea versicolor it is just a light skin fungus. You can either have brown spots or lighter spots. My sister in law has light spots.

it's treatable with any anti-fungal cream. A doctor gave me "Lamisil" spray before and that worked good. Athletes foot cream is good too, but can stink.

Apparently it is caused by too much yeast in the body.

Mine started on my sides, but they it crepts up to my pecs and on my arms as well.
