Okay, I got this wrong and don't know how to edit my previous response. The shampoo was called Nizoral, not tanactin. Trust me, this stuff really works. You should be able to get it at any drug store.

Its breast fungus, sounds gross but its actually common, just go to the doctor and they will prescribe a lotion or anti fungal medication

Hey I have the same thing you guys are talking about. Light brown spots in between my breasts and some right underneith. I know I read that some of you have it on ur neck and under your arms as well. I read somewhere that it has something to do with the amount of acid or something in your skin in that area and those places (in between breasts, under arms, and back of neck) all tend to be generally sweaty areas. Somebody reccomened I use lotrimin ultra on the spots. yes its the same thing ppl use for athletes foot. But im pretty sure the problem with athletes foot is a the acid level as well. So you can give that a try. It worked for me for a little bit and I thought it went away so I stoped using it. It came back though and now I cant get rid of it. Sot try the lotrimin ultra but keep putting it on. dont stop after one week.

It is more than likely Tinea Versicolor, which is a fungal infection caused by a bacteria that’s naturally found on the human skin. It comes in two varieties, one causes the skin to have white patches and the other causes the skin to have darker pinkish brown. There are other skin things that look like Tinea Versicolor, but it is probably not one of them.

It generally affects the back, shoulders, chest, and skin folds. Where you sweat and collect the most moisture.

You can go in for treatments, or try to treat it by yourself. It is really easily diagnosed by your doctor and they can give you prescription pills or topical creams. If you don’t want to pay for a doctor, you can buy clotrimazole (Lotrimin, Mycelex) or miconazole (Lotrimin). And apply them twice daily for 2 weeks. If you have had it for an extended time, it is sometimes suggested to put it on for a longer period of time. You can also try selenium sulfide shampoo 1% (Selsun Blue) or 1% ketoconazole shampoo (Nizoral). Some doctors recommend applying these for 15 minutes twice a week for two to four weeks.

If you decide to go into the doctor and get medicine from them, you need to tell them about your other medications (such as Lipitor) as they can interact with each other.

The spots will still be there for a couple months, even after you have killed the cooties. But the good news is they will go away! It can take months for them to blend back into your natural skin color though – typically the brown variation goes away faster.

I have the same problem and went to see a doctor for it. My Doctor told me not to worry that is is only sweat stains and when certine part of ur body start to sweat it can stain the skin. It is common for them to go away after being cleaned off and come back again because thats were you sweat the most. I hope i helped someone out.

I had the same thing of brown spots under my breast. I went to the doctor and the told me its a fungus and prescribed ketoconazole %2 cream and it went away the cream prevents the growth of fungal cells.

I'm 20 now, and I had this fungus when I was 13 because I was over weight. You should use Selsun Blue and rub it everywhere the spots are. I lost a ton of weight and the fungus went away, but then eventually came back and I'm now dealing with it again and using Selsun Blue once again. hoping it goes away permanently this time because I'm tired of seeing it on my skin all the time. :(
