sorry to hear about your pain. Something happened to me the podiatrist and everybody will leave alone with your pain. Nerves are cut and that causes the pain. Serious trouble. Medication with side effects. The more surgeries one have to "fix" the problem, the more damage one will be causing. Sorry.
Hello and I'm sorry about all the negative experiences , but have u given it time ? let me let you my podiatrist is a surgeon. I had painful bunions my whole life!! Wore only flip flops, surgery was a good choice for me and I had a Medicaid Doctor do it , so it's not like I had best doctor in town. I did have problems after the surgery but only temporarily and after one year had went away completely . Those were discoloration , numbness , stiffness , rotated big toe, severe ankle pain, improper wieght distribution and bigtoe stuck in an upward position.... Like I said after 12 months symptoms totally subsided ; my doctor is my angel. Juan Sardinas LA podiatry, west palm beach FL.
So far, it has been years of pain and suffering. Walking is painful, nerve pain every night, and one toe is so little than none can help me. I have seen many orthopedic doctors, most recently, from Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC.
Podiatrist are good for ingrown nails, and athletes foot problems but for surgery it is better to consult with an orthopedic physician with an specialization in foot and ankle.

I had surgery on both feet almost 2 years ago and I still struggle with loss of feeling in both feet. Feels like when your foot is asleep and coming to...all day everyday. Stairs are weird and forget about jumping up or down on something. Really regretting my surgery. Plus I have a screw sticking out of my left foot for which I need sugary to correct. Blah. Regrets.
Worst surgery I ever had also. I feel like my feet belong to someone else!
Same problem with me
Hello
How only a month? I only had mine shaved and it was 4-5 mos recovery.. She shortened my tie without my permission and now it's like a nub that sticks up and I cannot move-zero feeling. Also the bunion is back 10 times worse:(. If you are in the nyc area pls share your surgeon as I'm desperate to fix this...
Thank you.

I agree...please don't do it...I have no movement in my toes..and it looks hierible !!!!!!!!
The pain I had before the surgery was much less than I have now 6 months post op. I have numbness and severe range of motion difficulties. I have trouble balancing and squating. I would never recommend having surgery.
I had a bunionectomy and my second toe shortened. I now have my second toe sticking up and laying over my third toe. It feels numb all the time, like there's a tight band wrapped around the nerves surrounding my second toe. I feel pain under my second toe every time I take a step. I'm much less able to move normally. Stairs, bending down, running, jumping are all things that I cannot now do. It's not worth it. Save yourself the pain and use lambs wool in your shoe to buffer the bunion and wear wide tennis shoes.
Don't you people even know you've only begun to heal. Don't work yourselves up for no reason. Ever wonder why all those people with horror stories years ago never came back to the blog?
Give 3 to 6 months for you to start feeling somewhat normal again. six months postop you can start a one year countdown of true recoporatation, not as early as what you guys are describing. Running and jumping? No way! not unless u want to cause major damage. Please just wait you will see it was all very well worth it.

it could be RSD that i have from the same surgery; gabapentin is one of the best meds for nerve pain.
