I too have been having the vibrations on the right side of my chest. The go on for about 15 seconds then off for about 45 seconds. I had something similar about a year ago and my doctor asked if I had changed any routines at the gym. I said that I may have done some "butterflys" that I hadn't done in awhile so he said that it is probably a muscle spasm response. It seemed to go away after I kept doing what supposedly was the reason. This time it is more timed than before and pretty accurate and consistent. Once again I've changed some upper body routines that may be causing the problem but somehow this seems different. I just read about someone reducing caffein intake and I have been drinking a lot of "leaded" coffee out and after I workout. If it persists, I will see my doctor or at the very least call a nurse at the "wellness" site thru my insurance.
Thanks for reading.

I have the same problem only my vibrations last about 15 sec then stop for about 45 sec. Had this about a year ago and doctor asked if I had changed any routines at the gym. I told him I had added some "butterflys" and he said that could be why. I continued the routine and it went away. Now it is back and i've changed ny routine somewhat recently and it is back and more pronounced and regular. I think I will try avoiding caffein which I take regularly. I saw that possible cure mentioned above. I may also contact the 24hr nurses thru my insurance to see there opinion.

Glad I'm not the only one. I'm a 25 year old female, but despite my young age, I carry an immense amount of daily stress as a frequently traveling business owner. I literally do work 24 days, 7 days a week. My entire family has sporadic panic attacks, which is obviously not helpful, but for the first time ever today as I prepare to leave for two back to back biz trips, I felt my right chest vibrating. 2-3 second intervals like a cell phone... not concerning enough (since it's the right side, not my heart) to call a doctor, but enough for a Google search :-P By reading your responses and knowing my own personal health, I'm going to rest assured that it's stress induced, but keep an eye on it...

THANKS!

Correction: 24 HOURS, 7 days a week - clearly I work so much that I didn't take the time to proof read :-)

I just happened upon this board and thought I would lend some advice. I've had the same symptoms since I had a severe cervical injury (now progressing to cord impingement) and in the past 20 years these "vibrations" have progressed from fingers to hand, then arm, shoulder, left side and hip, now wrapping around to my left chest. The feeling is now continuous and I'm used to it but the only inconvenience is when I go to answer my phone but alas, it's just my hip doing the boogie-woogie. I'd advise a spinal diagnosis for anyone who's really concerned.

I am getting this buzzing in my left arm. Every 20 or so seconds and it lasts 2-3 seconds. I've only just noticed it today, but have been getting heart palpitations and wondered if they were related. I've had an ECG and it was normal but the palpitations are really getting me down, worrying about it just makes it worse, and now there's this buzzing! Is anyone else affected by palpitions as well?

I am getting the same kind of sensation but closer to the bottom of my rib cage. I had an ultrasound done but they couldn't explain it. It was gone for a couple of weeks but has recently started back up again. It's so annoying! I cannot sit because it's constantly buzzing when I breath and it's soooo uncomfortable.

I think this is an autonomic nervous system issue. Your adrenals sort of go into overdrive and release too much adrenaline, usually because they're exhausted from too much stress etc. In my case, it was an aftereffect of my first round of heavy metal chelation, which sent my adrenals into shock. I can't get to sleep easily, and am buzzing as though I have electricity running through me. Also mainly in my right chest cavity, but if I tune into it, it's all over my body. Very anxiety provoking, not least because it's connected to adrenaline, which leads to anxiety in the first place.

i started to get that feeling like couple weeks ago. And as it gets cold i got cough and runny nose :-(
i smoke alot of cannabis but not so much cigarettes. and ive been thinking could it be lung cancer?
when ever i smoke another cigarette i kind of can feel it vibrate, and sometimes it feels like a little stab on the right side of my chest.
i dont think it could be the heart, because its on the left side and i can feel my heart hurting too..
please tell mee its not! anyone :'(

One thing I can tell you all is the "buzzing," "vibration" or "purring" in my chest is not caused by a lung infection, nor is it stress (trust me -- I've had anxiety attacks before, and it's not related to that). However, I had a heart attack nine days ago and had a stent (actually, I believe it was two connected stents) implanted in my left anterior descending artery the following day. I was not told if they are drug-emitting. Tonight, I began getting the vibration in my chest after going to bed. It is not related to my breathing, but it does appear to be related to my heartbeat. It occurs with every other heartbeat and lasts about one second or less. It's freaky. Even more freaky is that even though I've found questions about this topic on a number of medical websites, I haven't found any responses from physicians. Seems odd that either there are no doctors reading these questions or they don't care enough to respond or, maybe even worse, they have no clue what the answer is, so they keep silent. Meantime, we're all in limbo.

I'm feeling something similar right now. However, I have no known heart problems (we've been listening to it on and off these past couple of days). What I feel is sort of like someone placing their hand on top of the bottom part of my sternum (just in line with the apex of the heart).
I've also been coughing a lot lately (and it's painful) so, therefore, the center to left side of my chest is burning.
I would like to know what that bulge or pressure like feeling is. I would also like to point out I am malnourished (my top weight was 150 and my current weight is 129, my height is 5' 10").
