I have had this sensation mainly on my left hip and most recently left breast. I, like many others, humorously tried to answer my cell phone, only to find it wasn't my phone; however, I think I have the answer.
That post and my experience made me think it is related to body positioning. I have been retired for a year now and sit at my arm chair for long periods of time using my computer supporting my arms on the arms of the chair which places my arms at a straight out from my shoulder position. I believe that either this places an abnormal stress on some nerves in the arms or shoulders; or, the prolonged sitting stresses the spine; hence, the resulting nerve reaction that feels like a vibrating phone. Also, I have experienced a similar, but slightly more intense sensation after riding my bike for 45 minutes or longer, although that reaction is in the genital area and is most likely related to pressure on the prostate. Padded riding shorts seemed to help this somewhat.
I hope that this stirs some reflection and reaction from others on this post. Thanks for listening.
I think I know it as I have been able to cure it. Friends I m 36 male from new Delhi , India. I suffered from anxiety disorders and panic attacks and was put on SSRIs by a psychiatric. After 6 months I got stable and with the help of some yoga and meditation I cud cure my stress and anxiety and yes the vibrating sensation on my left side also just vanished. Believe me guys it's just stress and nothing else , please ignore the murmur and divert your attention to something else like play angry birds :) . I wud also like to tell you that I got every damn test done that is TMT, stress Eco , 3d color Eco , heart enzymes and at last even angiography and every test came normal. So please get your stress sorted out
I am a 27 year old female. I recently moved from South Georgia to New York ( 2 weeks ago). There is definately a lifestyle change, life here is more stressful and things are faster paced. Today I first noticed a "cell phone vibration feeling" in my right breast , it last 2-3 seconds and occurs around 5-10 minutes apart. I have also been taking pain medication ( hydrocodone ) for about 3 weeks. I would love to chalk it up to stress, but since I've also been type 1 diabetic for 23 years, delivered a stillborn baby in June, had a kidney infection that kicked my ass in July, currently getting over a cold that I've had for 3 weeks or so. I have many things going on that could affect the current issue. I just hope it's stress... Goodluck to all on pin pointing what this weird feeling is!
:) i had that, im christian so I preayed and it is gone, it is just anxiety and stress. cheer up my friends

I have the same problem. About a month ago I kept reaching for my cell phone because I felt a 2-3 second vibration in my right shirt pocket. There was no phone. It has not gone away but doesn't seem to be getting worse. I am in good shape but I smoke.
Has anyone with this problem found anything out? This has been going on sporadically for me for at least 6 months. I am not having any luck finding out information on my own. THANKS!
I have been having the cell phone vibrating in my pocket sensation too , funny how everyone assumes it can be the heart; I too am a light smoker, my thoughts on this went to my lung for some reason...not my heart. Mine is on the left side.
i have had this on my right side several times this past week. i am a 53 yr old female. my vibration is very annoying and happens every few moments. i do have a thyriod condition.
im getting this too im going to my doctor today so i will let you know
I have had a similar buzzing sensation in my left breast (or muscles over heart?) for two weeks now, along with occasional pain. Similar symptoms about 15 years ago were unexplained -- but caffeine is the most likely explanation I've heard so far. (I hope everyone here saw a doctor -- and got coverage to do so!) Because the pain is a little unusual I plan to see a doctor as soon as possible.
