I have now been having this sensation under my right chest for over 2 years. Lately the sensation has increased and is bothersome. My DR. made me schedule an appointment to have my heart checked out as the ekg was greatly changed from the last one. So I saw  my cardiologist and he felt I was able to have major surgery. While an echo will be done in August of 2013. So now its been 6 weeks since surgery and the sensation is more intense then before. I have been under a lot of stress these past 12 months and wonder if that has anything to do with it. But at this point Drs are not concerned. I experience this at all times. Walking, sitting and even wake up to it. Then I may not have it at all for a few days.

Hi, I have just started having these 'buzzing' sensations in my right side of my chest, I too reached for my cell, but it was on the table, I do have stenosis of the aortic valve and looking at openheart in the future, but this is on the right and came out of nowhere just this afternoon, never happened before, I was taking a short nap and it woke me up,.....and been happening on and off the rest of the day, is it heart related???. I do have asthma, thought this might be the cause, so I used my inhaler, but its still there on and off, Im only worried because i have the heart condition, but it doesnt hurt, I dont feel dizzy or anything, just the buzzing,,,,should I see my dr.???..this will be hard with the holidays here, may have to wait till next week sometime.....if it is serious please let me know, I will go to emergency room if I need to........like I said, this just started today for about the past 7 hours, first time happened at about 1:30pm and its about 8:30pm now......

Hi - I cannot believe this is happening to so many people. Mine started last night when I was out I kept going to my breast pocket as I thought I had a text message on my mobile which was actually in my handbag . I thought it must be something and nothing until I went on this link and realised how many people it was happening to. No one appears to come up with a definite answer - is it just one of those unexplainable things.

I am middle aged & have been having this same buzz in my chest, left side, now too for about 3 months. I finally started experimenting with moving my left arm around--lo & behold, I can make it happen nearly at will with my arm movements. So you might want to experiment with something like that too, wherever it is hitting you. I've been placing my right hand on the area when it happens & I am pretty darn sure its origin is in my left pectoral attachment to my humerus (arm) bone...& then it fans out a little bit under the bottom part of my pec--but still it's a part of my pec muscle. It's like an eye twitch, but with a much larger/more capable muscle, so it's able to fan out & twitch much faster (like a cell phone buzz). Why do eye twitches happen? I guess I'll Google that next, haha. But the good news is I am no longer freaked out & scared by it. I will share with you that I did screw around with bath salts for a short while a couple years ago when they had just came out and were legal & nearly OD'd on them (or so I thought, I never went to a doctor, I just rode it out) b/c I had no idea, zero, what I was doing & was acting inexcusably stupid. Ever since then I have been having occasional panics about my heart & brain health, thinking everything ties back to that experience, like I did some serious damage to my heart.  But I've been to the doctors several times about my supposed heart & head issues after that and they always give me an ECG and find me super fit & tell me its just stress or panic (I never admit to them about that drug experimentation I did). I really have not done any other drugs since that scare (or before those few months in my life) & have always been running /working out all of my life, so what they say makes sense.  But I can tell you what though, that I take my health WAY more seriously now and I think it's good that everyone is checking into this. Anyways, sorry for rambling, but some of you might relate & be relieved to know that. I hope you'll find this to be something muscular/relatively innocent  too.

Last Wednesday I srtarted getting the same 5 second buzzing in my chest near my heart. I went to my internist and an EKG showed I had Prolonged QT. He sent me to ER at the hospital where they monitored me for 6 hours and came to the same conclusion. They also tested 6 vials of blood to see if there was any other heart problem. I am waiting for a Holter Monitor and have an appointment with a Cardiologist. All this from some buzzing that the hospital wrote down as palputations. But it was buzzing. Everyone has assured me it is probably a muscle twitch because it is impossible for me to have felt the prolonged QT from my heart.

Today I was having a buzzing in my right pectoral about 1 inch down and right of the nipple area.  Never happened before.  Yesterday I spend the day pulling out the carpeting in my daughter's room and my shoulders are pretty sore.  I'd bet that, for me, it's muscle twitching from the work I did.  If I massage that area a bit it stops for a while but comes back.  So, that's my story and suspicion in this case.

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing. It happens behind my right breast. A buzzing vibration. I was carrying my handbag on that arm the first time and yes i thought it was my mobile phone. I feel perfectly well and have no health problems.  Generally get it on standing. Not that concerned about it but curious as to what's causing it as it's a new thing.

I have the same thing, it just started last week and it feels like my cell phone vibrating gently on the right side of my chest. Going to the doctor in a couple of weeks - please post what your doctor says

Today (8:00 PM Mountain Time) I experienced this for the first time

while sipping hot chocolate at a cafe hotspot.

I am a man, in my mid 60's.

I feel the faint but noticeable buzz type of vibration in my left chest

muscle, about an inch or 2 to the right of the left nipple.

It lasts for about 3 to 5 seconds, and it disappears for about

a minute or two.

So, I googled for:

buzzing in the left side of chest

and goggle listed this page among the hits.

This is weird, as I have no stressors in my life. All is easy and well.

Hope an MD can offer some very educated guesses.

Cheers

I'm so relieved to know others are having this issue as well. I have no pain, no other symptoms. It's regular, almost in sync with every other heart beat. Anxious, yes. Reminds me of the turbulence noise fluids make through a restriction in a tube. Anyone find out anything specific??

My doctor told me to see a family doctor and have EKG and 24 hr Holter monitor done.

Frank interesting observation! Like everyone here I also have been experiencing this same sensation and I have a thought...What if it is a build up of plaque on the vein wall creating a restriction temporarily. As the blood is able to move through this area of the build up it creates a pulsation (buzzing sensation)???? If we were to able to direct the Doctor's more clearly we may just establish a solution to the problem. I am curious how many of us have clogged arteries in the exact areas correlating to these very sensations????
