It's called a toxic release. Pretty common after an adjustment.
Are you a chiropractor? I've been going to chiropractors for 70 years and I've never experienced that nor have I heard of it until I read your reply.
I get neck pain and nausea and began following this post while looking for answers. What I have found so far, is that my neck and shoulder muscles tighten up. About one to two hours afterward I feel nausea. Recently I discovered I also have mid to lower back pain in the erector muscle along the spine before it travels up to my neck and shoulder.
Massage can be helpful, especially if I notice the pain before I get nauseous.
The above is my situation and below I'm commenting on the chiropractic adjustments that seem to be causing others issues below:
I'm wondering if the chiropractic manipulation is causing your neck and back muscles to tighten, then travel down the erector muscle along the spine. There is a nerve coming out the spine in the mid to lower back that affects the stomach, and it's causing nausea.

I had severe numbness and pain from my neck down after only three adjustments. Deep tissue massage was supposed to help but instead caused nsusea, hyper anxiety to the point of depression and fatigue and severe psin. The exhsustion and pain lasted nine nonths and led to Costochondritis and IBS.
The side effects were deliberately played down. Had I been warned in advance about these problems as I shoud have been, I would have kept well away from this treatment which is neither safe or natural. I was asked if it was OK if a neck adjustment was performed without being told about the risks. So I agreed, but did not give informed consent. Painkillers would have been a much better option. In fact, I ended up on them anyway during treatment because I couldn't cope with the pain.

Hi did you receive any treatment to help heal?
Because of the reaction I had, I decided it was better not to risk having any further treatment in case I caused anything worse. I have a very sensitive system and I seem to react to any treatment because my body sees it as a huge affront. I decided to tolerate my symptoms for nine months and then I risked having a blood test to see what the problem was. The blood test of course went wrong because the healthcare assistant was poorly trained and I was left in permanemt pain. Two months later, I developed IBS because of the stress.
Man, I went to see a guy here in Ontario to help with my acid reflux. The first time he cracked my neck I felt dizzy and I had trouble moving my neck but no pain. The second adjustment a week later was something he did in a chair to my neck. I'm on day 6 now and feeling horrible. Headaches, chest pains, nausea, stiff neck, sore back muscles, insomnia . Tommorow I'm checking myself into the ER. After telling him this he was more concerned with getting me back for more adjustments and bringing my wife and mother... this is mostly b.s. and it's run like a cult or some MLM event. There is no way I would allow this man to touch my neck again. I was so stupid... wish I had never done this... Can only pray to God this gets better with time.
Ive had exactly the same experience. Terrible. Never again.
I felt the same , still light headed . Never even will go back again.
A chiropractor can’t fix reflux. The best thing for reflux is milk or an antacid tablet or see a gastroenterologist. Avoiding greasy, rich and spicy foods, eating little but often and not eating too late at night will help with this.
I ended up getting numbness from my neck down, burning pain in my spine and new joint pains appeared and old injuries resurfaced. I had neck pain for months. This was after 3 treatments. I was offered 6 but cancelled out after three. I was advised to have deep tissue massage to help with the pain but it only intensified the pain and caused exhaustion as well for nine months. This all led to costochindritis and IBS.
I think chiropractors are no more than quacks and if you have joint pain, you are far better off with painkillers or physiotherapy. With any medical problem, always see a proper doctor. I learned the hard way.
