Can somebody tell me how to take laxative?
-How many, and when? I really wanna loose weight..

I'm 13 years old & feel too fat for my own good. I occasionally use laxatives to lose weight since that's what my mom does & it works. Last night I took a laxative pill & woke up this morning feeling very weak & in the bathroom for a long time. I almost passed out. I was too weak to even hold my head up, so I laid it on the lid thing on top of the toilet. Words of Advice:DO NOT USE LAXATIVES TO LOSE WEIGHT! They make you feel awful & it's better if you just eat right and exercise. Besides, you feel a bit of accomplishment when you do work out. ;-)

well all the comment are getting me bit scared i have a infection or disease or what every it is the doctor dont have a clue they said its cronhs then proctits , then and inflamed area i have a check up every 3 months and i have to take every day pentasa enama and suppositories and tablet for also i have to have fibre gel twice a day and 2 laxitives be for bed also i take bucsapan for my ibs and omeprazol for heart burn now i put on lots of weight and i look about 3month gone i sacred off what every 1 been sayin that it rects you body what could i done if i stop takein off my medication i already eat healthy and run every day ???

I only want to lose 5 or 10 pounds . I just hate the way my stomach looks. So Ill let you know how 2 weeks of it goes. We are going someplace where I have to put on a bathing suit and I hate the way I look. I really only have a week and a half. Im scared but Im gonna try... %-)

laxatives should be used very carefully and only if needed.

sometimes weight gain is caused by constipation or irregular bowel movements. I have problems with both of these. Before I had this issue I had trouble even keeping weight on at all. Then I started gaining weight and no one knew why I also had bad pains in my sides and stomach and abdomen in general.

I tried eating less, taking in more fiber, eating only fruits and veggies...nothing helped...I'm asthmatic and cant exercise much,which has never been an issue till now. If your weight gain is caused by irregular bowels its ok to take laxatives to help, and yes, it will help you lose weight. If you use them for too long your bowels may lose the ability to digest food on its own and you will need to take them for life. So only take them on the advice of a doctor. but yes it can help you lose weight.

If you don't have bowel issues and take it to lose weight then you will lose it...painfully and potentially embarrassingly...but you will lose weight all the same. Much in the same way a sick person does. I was once hospitalized with a stomach flu and asthma I spent over two weeks in there. I went in a large size 3 and came out a small 0 :( not fun.


so...it does work, but can be dangerous. Talk to your family dr. :)

i kinda suffer with bulimia i occasionally throw up when i feel like ive had too much. three weeks ago i tried using laxatives and fell in lvoe and the past week i have either thrown up every night or used a laxative... have i already damaged my health?

Actually she kind of does. She has some of the facts wrong but is correct about kestosis. I know because I've been on the ideal protein diet for a month now and have lost almost 30 pounds and its because I put my body into ketosis.

However fruit juice, and fresh fruit is your enemy on any diet. This is because if you are trying to burn fat you must stop putting any fat into your body or your body with utilize it for energy first. So what you do is remove all fat, carbs, and sugars from your diet. Up your protein intake and begin from there. Once you remove all fats from your diet, your body will go into what is called ketosis within about 3 days. When your body is in the state of ketosis it is using your stored fat for energy. I know this because I am an athlete and need to cut my body fat for my next event.

The reason you remove all fruit and sugars is because your body converts sugar alcohol into fat and uses it for energy. The same with carbs. So by eliminating these things, and increasing your protein intake you are fueling your muscles (which is what protein is needed for) and you are burning fat because it takes muscle to burn fat.

Also while you are doing this your are balancing out your insulin levels, which allows your pancreas to rest and heal and return to a normal state so that when you do reach your goal and you re-introduce fruits and carbs your body can properly metabolize it without the spikes in insulin that those things normally cause in an unbalanced diet.

So my recommendation is to up your pure protein intake (daily protein should equal in grams half of your ideal body weight, so if your ideal weight is 140 pounds you should be taking in 70 grams of protein daily) reduce your fat, or eliminate it entirely for a period if possible, don't eat fruit, but do eat lots of veggies that are not natural sugar carriers like cucumber, green peppers, celery, lettuce, but no carrots as they are high in natural fruit sugars...... and avoid carbs like potatoes, breads, rices and pasta's. Oh and no frying anything.....

Trust me you will have lots of energy because your muscles are being well fed, you will be restoring your natural flora, your vital organs will function the way they are supposed to, your hair and skin will look amazing, and you will loose an incredible amount of weight in no time.

LAXATIVES ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE, THOSE PEOPLE THAT CAN GO WITHOUT TAKING A LAXATIVE DON'T NEED TO TAKE ANY, BUT FOR THOSE OLDER PEOPLE THAT HAVE A HARD TIME GOING SHOULD TAKE THEM BUT ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS, I TAKE A PURE VEGGIE LAXATIVE, PURE VEGGIE LAXATIVES COST MORE THAN REGULAR ONES CAUSE THEIR MADE WITH PURE VEGETABLES SO THEY CANT HURT YOU AT ALL ITS LIKE TAKING CONCENTRATED PRUNES OK, I DON'T ABUSE LAXATIVES BUT I HAVE TO TAKE 2 ARE 3 EVERY NIGHT BEFORE SLEEP NOT TO LOSE WEIGHT BUT TO KEEP MY SELF FLUSHED OUT, I SEE SOME SAY HERE TAKING LAXATIVE ALL THE TIME TO LOSE WEIGHT IS BAD AND THAT'S VERY TRUE, BUT FOR PEOPLE THAT CANT GO REGULARLY ON THEIR OWN WILL ALSO DIE IF THEY CAN'T KEEP THEM SELF'S CLEANED OUT CAUSE WHETHER U KNOW IT ARE NOT FECAL MATTER IS TOXIC TO THE BODY IT CAN ALSO DAMAGE ORGANS SO I SUGGEST USE LAXATIVES LIKE THEIR SUPPOSE TO BE USED AND LAXATIVES CAN BE TAKEN EVERYDAY LIKE A VITAMIN BUT BY DIRECTIONS AND FOR THOSE THAT CANT GO ON THEIR OWN AND ESPECIALLY NOT TO LOSE WEIGHT.

one word....Atkins.... i lost 72 pounds in 2 months by doing the atkins diet and the only exercise i did was taking random walks 2-4 times a week for about 30 min each time....this is not a good solution to anyone over 25

Here is what I did to lose 30 lbs in 5 months.
oatmeal for breakfast
raw fruits and veggies for snacks
Lean cuisine for lunch
baked chicken and veggies occasional brown rice for dinner
plain yogurt for snack in evening.
NO OIL NO CHEESE NOTHING FRIED NO MAYO OR SALAD DRESSING NO RED MEAT.

If you are using or thinking of using laxatives for weight loss then I suggest you look elsewhere. You won't ever lose fat with laxatives but you will lose waste products and water.
Laxative overuse and abuse is now a common method used for weight loss. Not only will you not lose weight but you will also be harming your body in your efforts to produce fast weight loss.

There is never a good reason to take laxatives for weight loss. If you aren't eating enough your laxative use will become even more painful as you won't have eaten enough calaries for waste products to move through your intestines at any rate.

Unfortunately another side effect of laxative use is that as your body is releasing a lot of water your body will then think that it needs to retain more water. As a result, your laxative use has caused you to carry more water than before.

While you may believe that laxatives are a fast way to weight loss, not only will you not lose weight when using laxatives but laxatives will have the opposite effect and make you carry more water and feel even more bloated.
