Im glad I am not the only one. I had my son 9 months ago and wasnt smoking the whole pregnancy. About 3 weeks after having him I started up again and was smoking about a pack every 2 days. I quit cold turkey March 1st & havent had my period since.  I use an electronic cig at times but not consistant. I know Im not pregnant. Have taken many test. Its not April 25th and Im really worried, after seeing everyone having that same problem it eases my mind a little bit. Thx for all the info girls!

Yay! I had a feeling that quitting smoking was interfering with Auntie Flo! I quit smoking 3 weeks ago and am 10 days late. (I had smoked for over twenty years, only quitting when I was preggers with my kids) It is astounding to me, how much smoking affected my body. For the last two years my pulse was usually around 75-80 and my blood pressure was around 140/80. Now my pulse is consistantly 58-65 and my blood pressure hits around 100/65. And here I discover cigarrettes affect my monthly cycle? Yeesh. I'm happy to have quit and kudos to eveyone else here who has as well!

Everyone! Just wanted to chime in for a sec. I recently quit smoking cigarettes and switched to e cigs

I was late an entire month! I was freaking out and stressing for no reason. I just got my period today. From everything ive read, its totally normal to be late due to nicotine intake and stress. I was so stressed when i quit my dentist of all ppl prescribed me somas. My husband and I have been using the pull out method for months and nothing else. So you can see how i would worry. Just relax and let yOur body do its thing.

I am 28 and just stopped smoking a week ago. One of the reasons was because me and my partner want to have a baby, but now I'm late by nearly a week. I know I'm not pregnant as have done a test, but I am a little disheartened as if stopping effects my periods I may not be able to conceive for a while.

OMG, I love this site. Its nice to know that we are not alone in this subject. Definately puts my mind at ease. I'm 38 yrs old and have been smoking since I was 16. I usually smoke about a pack a day. I have 3 happy and healthy children. Went cold turkey with my first two children and continued smoking with youngest(Dr's orders). I have my tubes tied(lasered) after my youngest was born. Finally, I decided to quit smoking Cold Turkey on Sept 5th. I havent smoked now for about 1 month and Im one week late on my period. Me and my husband are separated so there is no way I could get pregnant. With this site, Im thankful for all you women out there.....and sharing your stories. Quitting smoking does change your body....Im just surprised that there isnt more information on this subject. Oh, I also have gained about 5 pounds now. I still have urges but I look at my kids and want to be healthier for them and myself :)

Quit smoking 6 days ago - guess what made me go looking for this post? I've missed exactly one period in my life aged 16 due to my O-levels! Usually I'm like clockwork with other associated pms symptoms so a missed period with some hot flashes thrown in and difficulty sleeping; alongside a plan to get pregnant early next year (I'm 39) - finding these postings have been a tremendous relief. Hot sweats are receding thankfully.

I am 34 and I quit smoking five weeks ago.  I am about two weeks late for my period.  It's good to know I am not the only one, but just want to put in my two cents so people know it's apparently common.

I am so happy to find these posts. I have been smoking the past 6 years. I wasn't smoking a lot. Only 1/2pack a day. I quit almost 3wks ago, cold turkey and my period is 7 days late. I have had dizzy spells the last few days and thought maybe, so I took two tests and I am not pregnant. I can see from the posts here everyone seemed to quit cold turkey. I know that a lot of stress can cause you to miss your period so maybe that's all it is. Congrats to all you guys who quit. It is no easy task. Often hard to remember why you quit. My boyfriend smoked 2packs a day for over 10 years and quit cold turkey. That is where I found the strength to do it. Thanks love!

I'm 22, smoked for 5 years, quit cold turkey about 5 weeks ago. had my period last month as normal, should have gotten mine today (I know I'm jumping the gun) but it is comforting to know that there are others in this situation. I'm on the pill but you never know.

hi aeast, it could be down to the stress of stopping smoking as you have done it that caused your period to be late, well done to you though for taking the hard approach to stopping smoking :-)

I'm 31, have been smoking since I was 13, and quit on Nov. 21 using ecigs regularly (I was a pack/day smoker for years). My period has always been irregular, but was evening out a bit the last year.

This month I am 20 days late (I've tracked my cycle with an app for 2 years), but on the day I should have gotten my period it was a brown discharge for 3 days - light enough to not have wear anything - and thought it would come full force based on the "push wad of toilet paper up a little to check" method. I had cramping and still do as of this post.

My pregnancy test was negative. I've worked out a bit and have only gained 3 pounds since quitting. It's so good to know that I'm not alone with this one as I've never had the brown discharge before and was worried bc it's common with pregnancy. I'll come back and repost when my cycle finally comes. Thank you everyone as I feel a little better!
