I am very happy to see these comments.  I am due now but for the past three days it is very small spotting.  I will keep drinking water and staying fit and thanks to these posts I have one less thing to worry about.  I read Allen Carr's book, "Easy way to quit smoking" and happily finished feeding the nicotine monster as soon as I finished the book.  I love the me I was meant to be...free

In case anyone is still reading this thread, I have quit smoking cold turkey since march 22, will be a full 2 months in one week's time...

I had my 1st mth period arrived on time.

My second mth only came last night which was 9 days late. hopefully it will regulate next month onwards.

All the skipping and/or extra PMS days i know is probably not easy, but i am sure we can all persevere and keep on breathing free!

Same person as above:

in case this helps, I have irregular bowel movements since the 3rd week after quitting. My constipation problem solved itself not too long ago so I would say it lasted for about a month.

I had tiny little acnes breakout everyday teamed with greasy scalp on 3rd week too, really gave me quite a scare. I thought it was the quitting until my friend pointed out that I have been snacking a lot for 2 weeks. Its the oil from all all the chips and fried food hahaha.

I guess we all do things differently because of quitting. I have hardly any alcohol now, i exercise more, I ate a lot, now i eat less than normal to compensate for the crazy snacking in my first month. While we try to adjust to our new non smoking lifestyle, our body will take some time to adjust to our new lifestyle too. :)

I'm also very glad I found this! I'm 23 years old and had been smoking for a little over 5 years (at most I smoked 1 pack every 3 days). I started cutting back in February and March and my cycle was still normal. I went completely cold turkey after St. Patricks day (I already had my period at the beginning of March).

I was 4 days late in April, and I started taking Vitamin C and drinking ginger tea to help induce my period the day I was late. Besides being 4 days late my period was pretty normal, although it did end one day earlier than it normally does. This month I am now 6 days late, Ive been taking Vitamin C daily and drinking tea, but my period still has not come, and I think it might just skip this month entirely. There is no way I am pregnant, but I was still worried that something was wrong, so I am so glad I found this!

I'll be back to update whether it returns to normal or I go to my doctor and find out what's wrong!

I know it's way too late to reply but if anyone reads this it will assure you. I was a full time smoker but once I met my partner I cut back a lot the past 6 months but was still a pack or two throughout the week then one time I didn't have any cigs for two weeks and my period became over a week late, then I bought a pack of ciggies and had a few smokes and BAM! It came that day. Right now my period is 10+ days late (haven't smoked anything in past few weeks) which is why I am here seeing if others have had the same problem and now it all makes sense..if I go out to town this weekend and smoke I'm sure I'll have to pack some womanly needs in my bag. Hahah but I'm kind of over it now..guess it'll come back soon..

Thank goodness I found this thread. So I'm 5 days late for my period. Not on BC but we use condoms. In the last month I have quit smoking, moved, starting exercising regularly but the past week and a half been sleeping poorly and eating poorly as well. Mostly because a relative of mine was in the hospital and I had a big event to prepare for that week as well.

I am guessing that all these reasons and possibly going cold turkey is affecting how late my period will be. I know it doesn't seem I'm that late, but I'm always on time so it's strange.
I'll update after I do my at home test.

I quit smoking 5 weeks ago and my period came exactly 3 weeks later than expected. I am 21 right now and I smoked for around 4 years of 6-7 cigarettes a day on average. I've quit for a month before and it didn't effect my period that time, but it did this time. This time I quit after a wisdom tooth removal surgery so on top of quitting smoking I had the healing and the prescription medicine stress. I've also had my other 2 wisdom teeth removed before and it didn't effect my periods (I smoked 3 days after that surgery). I think it really depends on the time of the cycle you quit and your other life circumstances. From what I read online, women of all ages had their periods come late. I did a pregnancy test (very unlikely but I needed to be sure) and it turned out negative. It was still quite a freak out. Just remember ladies, quitting smoking is always good for you. These forums really helped because not much is online about quitting smoking and missing periods so I hope mine helps somebody out. Good luck =)

So I've quit smoking. Cold turkey and now I'm not on my period. I was due on today. And nothing. Just feel down. I really do hope I come on soon as I'm 21 this year and can't have a baby yet. My period comes a week or a few days before I'm due but this month nothing. I'm getting so worried and so is my partner

Hi!
This made me feel so much better... I was really panicking as I am NEVER late, but yet I am a week late now. Just got my period a few mins ago, brown and think, very strange, but still. I have been smoking for about 15years and quit last month. I am 31. It would have been a disaster f I was pregnant.

Funny you mention that, I can say exactly the same. In fact, after reading this blog, I smoked last night to see if it would work and bring on my period as I am a week late, and have never been a day late in my life. So yes, I smoked a few last night and today I finally got my period. Incredible. I was absolutely petrified as being pregnant would not really be an option for me right now....
