Quit in October 2013. I had a period in Nov and December and late by a over a week now. Not even a sign that it is on the way. No breast swelling and/or pain....nothing. Smoked for over 20 years, four to five cigs a day if that. Glad I found this thread/page, I feel better now. Because I do not want to be pregnant, I got thangs to do! LOL

I quit smoking 34 days ago and my period was 15 days late.... I did spot for a few days when my period was actually suppose to Start. So I figured that was it for the month. Nope....look out day 45 ish...maybe the worst period of my life! I know it is all part of the process of my body resetting itself after quitting smoking.

Count me in! Same here! I quit for new years and here we are, Feb 11 and no flow. 'Bout 3 weeks late today. Took a prego test a week after then again at a week and four days. Both negative. WHY IS THERE NO MEDICAL RESEARCH ON THIS????????? Oh, wait...it's because it won't make anyone any money. Anywho, if anyone is experiencing the same thing, and this is your only thing to go on, do everyone a favor and write your experience so us ladies know we aren't alone. It helped me a heap.

aaaaah! SOOOOO glad this post was up. I am 29 and trying to quit smoking. I started about 2 weeks ago, went a week without a single cig, but the cravings have been CURAZY and I've smoked maybe 4 this week. I have my tubes tied, but I'm well aware that there are still chances of pregnancy afterwards. My menstrual cycle has been every 29 days, like clock work, for the past 5 years...which is when I had my last daughter and had my tubal done, except for one month about 3 years ago when I had a miscarriage. Right now I am 6 days late and was completely freaking out thinking there was a chance I could be pregnant, since I have had a tubal pregnancy since my tubal that totally freaked me out. Thank you for posting this. It has definitely helped and calmed me down quite a bit. lol

20 cigarettes a day. 20 Years. I quit 8 months ago cold turkey.
I was always on a 21 day menstrual cycle. I am now on a 28 day cycle since the 5th month into my quit. I'm guessing that 28 days is my new normal.
Also, I started having serious digestive issues approx 3 months into my quit (severe bloating, constipation). THis is now finally starting to stabilize and my metoblism seems to be going back to how it was before my quit.
8 months into my quit and my hormones and body are still adjusting. But this is a good thing... your system will adjust and will rebalance itself in time. Be patient.

I am in the same boat. I quit smoking on Dec 26th and was due for my period 5 days ago. Did a test (negative) even though I had a tubal ligation in 2010, because my nipples are sooooo sore, even have a some discharge which I keep mistaking for my period, mild cramping and irritable. I am on the patch 28 mg with an inhaler when needed. Doing the Smoking Cesation Program. I have smoked since I was 13 years old and am now 35. Tried quitting countless times and have never had this probelm before.
I am grateful for this thread because I was sure I was having an eptopic pregnancy!!!!

Same thing has happened to me and I'm very glad to have found this board as I have been worrying. Not about being pregnant, because I know I am not, but worrying that at 38 my periods are becoming irregular just as my partner and I are about to try for our first child.
I stopped smoking 3 weeks ago (in prep for trying) and I'm now 3 days late after a few days of spotting. I'm usually like clockwork so figured/hoped it must be to do with stopping smoking.
So hopefully it will come soon and everything will regulate itself in time. : )
