there does not seem to be a concrete, backed up answer on this site, and I think it's time to accurately answer it. I've read articles saying it does, and articles saying it doesn't. So if/when you write your answer, try to cite your information l, that way there won't be any controversy

Hi Panther,

The answer to your question is "maybe."  Check out the Kinsey report.

Masturbation should be a pleasurable and relaxing experience but many young men are in a hurry.  They're afraid of getting caught OR they just want the quick release of pleasure.  Typical teen games of "circle jerks" to see who can ejaculate the fastest or the furthest don't help.

Ideally masturbation should be a learning experience, learning how to control their orgasm.  This can be done by "edging."

When they they start to have sex their earlier conditioning, having a quick orgasm, comes into play.  Then they start to worry they may have a problem, it aggravates the problem, and it continues.  It can take a very patient partner to break the cycle.

Hope it helps.
