My husband had a severe sore throat last week but never went to the Dr. Now he has a visible lump inside his throat, although it is no longer sore. Could this have been a result of strep even though the symptoms are gone? Since he never got diagnosed, we are just guessing. And for all we know, it was there before the sore throat and he just never noticed.
Hallo,
Strep throat can have a lot of symptoms and sometimes it can have consequences as well when it is gone. The throat can be red and during strep throat you will notice patches inside your oral cavity. Is there a chance that you have been mistaken red patches for lumps? Has he noticed any problems when he eats? I know that swollen lymph nodes on the neck are also one of the symptoms and difficulty swallowing is almost noticeable in every strep throat infection. What have you used for the treatment? Could this lump be a side effect of the medication that he has been using to get rid of the strep throat? I hope this helped.
Regards,
Karen
