Hey girls.

I just want to say that I am 28 years old, got my first period around 16, I have always been irregular due to various things including stress and an eating disorder and I've probably had less than 50 periods in my lifetime. I have/had amenorrhea and got on birth control for a few months which seemed to make things a bit more regular, but still irregular. I sometimes would go 1+ years without a period, and I was confused and depressed for years because I thought I was unable to conceive. My dumbass OBGYN told me I had many follicles on my ovary and I may have PCOS, which would make it a bit harder to conceive.

However I am currently 33 weeks pregnant, carrying a healthy active baby and I just would like to reassure you all that even if you have amenorrhea, a severe eating disorder or another illness that textbook definitions say will make it harder to conceive, anything can happen if you believe and stay positive and persistent. I literally wasted years of my life being depressed about my body and things I had no idea about and it made a lot of my emotional symptoms worse. However getting pregnant kind of changed my entire life around and I all of a sudden began to appreciate and love my body vessel.

So ladies just relax, I've been worrying about this for 10 years and miracles do happen, so don't write your future in stone before you live through it. My good friend told me a few years ago when I was struggling with this idea....

If you want it, nothing in the world will stop you from being a mother, absolutely nothing. It may not happen the way you always imagined it might (IVF, adoption, etc) but if you are fated to be someones mom then nothing in the world will ever stand in your way.

It might be the problem of the development of ovary. The advice is that you need to go to the hospital do a body check. If you can produce ova, you have chance to have a baby.

Hi Daniela, I'm 22 yrs old and I never did get my period. I was diagnosed around age 20. Apparently I just never fully developed and my doctor put me on birth control pills. While on the pills I get my periods regularly, but I was told that I would not be able to get pregnant.

I have a very similar problem to you. I was diagnosed with Raynaud's disease in high school, and have never had regular periods. They stopped altogether when I was in college. I am 26 now and have yet to have a natural period. I have seen multiple specialists who have ruled out any hormonal imbalances or growths, etc. They just want to prescribe birth control, which I have tried and don't want to be on. I have also tried progesterone, which didn't work either. I live a very natural lifestyle and have tried acupuncture, nutrition support, and essential oils. Have you had any success?

I don't know if this is what I have, but I never get my period. When I got pregnant with my son I had not had a period in at least 6 months. So it is possible. I'm trying for number two now. I haven't had a period in well over a year. Good luck!

Hi. This was a while ago and I have to same problem as you did. I'm about to be 18 and since you already went through this can you have children? That's the only thing I'm scared of when I get older.

I don't know why the doctors are telling you it's due to your weight / exercise regime, I use to work in fitness, I've recently gained weight in an attempt to get it back & still not him another 6 months later. TTC 18months! I've tried vitex & provera (before clomid), Royal jelly, Fertlity Accupunture & Mayan massage no luck as yet.

I know this is an old post, but had to reply in case it's helpful. The answer is: Yes, you can become pregnant. When you are ready, or even before you're ready, and taking good care of your body and your stress levels, you can and will. And no, it doesn't have to be through fertility drugs. From someone who's cycles have averaged 4 months, longest 9 months. Now very pregnant. The doctors are wrong.
