I been on suboxone for 8 months now and i have been wanting to get off of then. I went to my dr to get some kind of helpful advice but he did not give me any. It seemed like he did not want me to get off of them. I got really bumed out about this because i thought that he might tell me what to do or that we could come up with some kinda plain. I was taking 8mg then after i went to my dr and he did not help me at all I lower down to 2mg. I even went to a psychologist and she told me to go to inpation to detox.I know that i cant do this alone i really need someone to tell me what 2 do. the last couple months i have been trying to get help. I did not know that it was this hard to find someone that can really help me the way i want to be helped. I really need to find someone that can tell me what to do and how to do it. I'v been going to all types of dr and none of them have been helpful. I really dont know what to do.if anyone has any kinda helpfulness it would be greatly appreciated.
Hey hun, What you need to do is slowly take less and less. You say your down to 2mg a day? Slowly just take less and your body will get used to it. Therapy, NA meetings, and just being with GOOD friends will help. Keep busy, and most importantly have faith in yourself. You have the odds on your side! You have been on it for under a year! You are already down to 2mg! Start splitting the peices in half, Im not sure how you take them.
But for instance, i took mine in halves, one in morning -
so instead take a quarter, and maybe replace it by drinking coffee.
Exercise will certainly help as well.
As i said, just slowly take less and less. Keep busy with positive things! And therapy, NA meetings, or just by talking to someone who knows what your going through that can help.
You are addicted to them physically, and thats why you should slowly lower yourself off of them rather then going cold turkey.
However, you also are addicted to them mentally, they are almost a security blanket of re assurance that you cant and wont use drugs while taking them.. And thats where the counseling and positive influences come in.
Good luck & Take care.
Keep your head up! You can do this!
I do have personal experience in this, and i will be here if you would like to talk at anytime. Let me know and then i will give you my email.

i got cut off?! i wanted to tell you it WAS NOT THAT BAD. i got 4 T3's for two days (and other stuff like bentyl), and weaned on t3's from there. i was hardly sick, just anxious. really, really, anxious. 16 mg/day to nothing in less than a week without getting sick. a best seller? good luck, YOU CAN DOOOOO IT!!!
