I really think your mom should get checked out for any bugs or parasites. You said she went to the beach and the mountains and your father was sick. Maybe even ticks. There is way more to this than a cold.
DOctor's don't look past their nose - you have to tell them what to do. Push this!!!
Blessings, I read your post. First, my heart went out to you regarding your fear of dying. So, I stopped and prayed for you. Next, I thought about what you said about hormones. I am 42 and experiencing the same symptoms as most of the women in these posts, you too. And just like the other women in these posts, I have also been to the dr and have had an EKG. The results were "normal." I am now wondering if this could be hormonal, since I am between both menstrual cycles and menopause? That would sure explain a lot. I will keep praying for you and all of the women experiencing pain in their chests. God bless you.
Look up Vagus Nerve Damage and Disorders also Autonomic Neuropathy. I have the same symptoms, I am undergoing tests with my cardiologist. A 48 hour Holter, Ekg, Echocardiogram and a Stress Test. Blood work is fine but I did show Supraventricular Ectopic Beats and Ventricular Ectopic Beats. 5 all together in 48 hours. Still waiting on other tests and results but Im also scheduled to see a neurologist for a Nerve Conduction Study to rule out any central nervous system disorders that can mess with the hearts electrical system. Cardiologists should know to test this too.
Just read this post and hoping that you went to see another doctor...sounds like you have an arythmia. if that's what it is then it's generally not too serious, though can be frustrating, annoying and at times stops you doing things you want to do. Please, if you haven't seen another doctor, do so...try and go when you are having the rapid heart beats (especially as you say they sometimes last a few days). this is sometimes treatable with medication, which seems to be the first line of defence, but if this fails there is a procedure you can undergo which can deal with the problem permanently...again if this is the issue.
It may be a problem with your Esophagus.
Allergies.
I have similar problems and received similar responses and reports from Doctors, as those I have been reading about. My problems began after moving to a new area, and I started having allergic reactions, mild at first, the odd sneeze and cough, gradually developing into a full blown debilitating condition centered on my chest and throat. Use of nasal sprays has brought my sinuses back under control, however nothing helps with the chest problem. Have decided to move house again, well away from this area that has affected me badly.
Wow, these replies are so similar to my own symptoms.
Symptoms I've noticed of late...
/ Tickling Cough (started a few months ago) - just once in a while, a single cough. Perhaps once every 15 minutes. Might go away for a day, but then comes back. No doubt some of it is psychosomatic. Wish I was the kind of person that wasn't subject to that. But sadly, that is not the case.
/ Crystal Clear Snot Clods in the Morning (started about a month ago) - No congestion, typically only evacuating the left nostril. Not sure where it's "stored". Not in my throat. Not in my nose. Doesn't feel like my lungs. Perhaps my trachea. Goes away not long after leaving bed.
/ And this morning, Chest Tightness (possibly unrelated as it just started today) - Called my doctor's office (July 3rd) to get in before the long weekend, but apparently his office had already begun the long weekend... last Friday. The tightness is significant. Not acute or painful, just pressure.
/ I've had a few really odd illnesses in the last 20 months or so. It started when I cracked some metatarsals in my right foot and crushed the ligament along the side of the foot (racquetball recovery gone horribly wrong). During healing, both my shoulders sequentially developed tendonosis. 8 to 10 months of recovery each. One right after the other. Back to about 90% radial movement after the scar tissue formed up in place of the tendons. There were no injuries or related activities to account for the tendonosis. This last bullet is likely unrelated, but the oddness of it might have been worth mentioning.
Symptoms I don't have...
/ Fever
/ Congestion
/ Breath is a little short, but not bad or anything. Just your general lack of exercise.
/ Heart issues (that I know of)
My health and daily activities...
/ I'm very trim and eat good food, but I do not exercise. I also take daily supplements (adult male once-a-day/fish oil) as my array of food is fairly limited. Truth is I loathe even having to eat food. But for what I do, I feel like I eat right. The supplements came in due to my fear that my "failing health" might be a result of some vitamin deficiency. Doesnt seem to have helped at all. Shocker.
/ I fix network and server hw and sw for admins remotely, from my house, from my chair. Been doing it for many years.
/ I do not deal well with stress or noise. I maintain an environment conducive to stress reduction, but I have long since disliked my job. There's always a million dollar contract or purchase order on the line when they bring me in. I don't mean to say this happens every day. But that type of scenario is typically once a week, no doubt contributing to my ever increasing stress intolerance. And my company's leadership is on some sort of cyclical directional shift that repeats once every 2 years or so, seemingly never learning from the fails. Prolly just obtuse However because of a court ordered obligation, I need to maintain a fulltime nonContract position until it's complete. After it is, I plan to get laid off immediately and do something I actually like. In fact, I already know what it is. But at this time, I need permanence.
/ I used to play racquetball pretty hard twice and three times a week, but that stopped when I crushed my foot. Can't play racquetball anymore with these shoulders, but I've been trying to get back for general exercise. Doesn't seem to be happening.
/ I'm 39 and feel like I've become a hypochondriac. Been wondering more and more often if I'm going to kick it. Started somewhere around 35, I've been developing oddball symptoms that don't seem to fit any diseases or known afflictions. Every time I go to the doctor, it's apparently nothing. Though I rarely get administered any significant testing. Presumably this is just aging, but it feels like just making it to 50 might not be possible. Most of my family made it to a very old age. I don't see how they could have done that feeling the way I feel, especially with it compounding annually. I often have one real symptom that might indicate something bad (like today's chest pressure), but the rest of the symptoms that would indicate the bad thing, I never have them.
I have never had any allergies, but I wonder if I might be developing a dust mite or cat allergy. My cats (2) sleep in the bed with me and my sheets could stand to be washed more regularly. I just took an allergy pill, so we'll see what happens. But as is so often the case in my own computer related diagnosis', it's probably two things, confounding my research and testing.
One my friends suggested the pressure might be acid reflux, but I don't have the other symptoms that go with that. Still, it's something to test I guess. I just wish this hadn't started up on July 3rd (a Wednesday).
I'm not a doctor but I hope this helps I'm 54, and about five years ago I had heart spasms, felt like someone was reaching in and squeezing the blood right out of my heart. Went to the ER they xrayed, ekged me ,ran blood test and gave me and $125.00 dollar aspirin the size of a large gumball. I am very Grateful for those ER doctors although they could not tell me the cause they did tell me that every thing look good all the test came back negative. But the spasm continue! Which really was freaking me out! A LOT!! So I Prayed for an answer.. The next day at work ( I was a merchandiser for a magazine company and I work a lot of stores changing out the old magazines for the new ) I was talking to a friend at one of the stores I serviced telling of my experience at the ER her eyes got big and she smiled, Oh yeah that happened to me too. Then she asked me those totes you lift how much do they weigh? I told her about 20 to 50 pounds She said when you lift directly over your head to stack them, your straining the butterfly muscles in between the shoulders causing your heart to spasm! So I thanked the Lord for the answer and stop lifting those totes! The spasm stop shortly there after. To date Ive had pressure pain of chest and found out that the cause was directly related to my poor posture have seen a Ciro and the problem is gone.
%-)Hi there,i flew for the first time a few years ago from NY to Orlando, once we got to our altitude i had so much pressure in my whole body,i felt like i was going to burst it was very uncomfortable, even my eyes felt like they were buldging.Should i see a Dr. ? or just Not fly again. HELP!!!!
Since this post, have you been definitively diagnosed with anything or are you still experiencing the same issues? I have had similar symptoms for about 2 months now. My doctor had a "Holter Monitor" placed on my chest, but there was no evidence of anything abnormal. Now, my doctor wants to place an "Event Monitor" and see if that shows anything. I, like you, am in my 50's and worry frequently that I am having a heart attack. I can't imagine this carrying on for 6-7 years like you. I hope you have figured it out by now and wish you a full recovery.
Realx guys I have the same problems I'm a 16 year old kid I play football, wrestking and lift everyday my chest always feels like it gettibg tight and I'm short of breath my heart will race and ill feel like I'm vgoing to die, its just anxiety but teach yourself some exercise like lissning to music or something active to get it off your mind even if you don't know what your stressing about its because your heart rate will just jump randomly but us people with anxiety notice the small increases in heart rate and before you know it your fteaking the f**k out don't let it get to you becaus eit can result in a panic attack, I hope I helped a lil
