I don't know if we have the same problem my dentist explained to me that my teeth are misaligned my dad says I grind my teeth when I'm asleep, that could be the reason. Because of this my spine exerts greater effort while supporting my skull so sometimes when i take a deep breath that happens to me. He made me a ceramic brace so that my lower teeth is higher and can support the higher teeth try biting something (Rubber) or don't let your upper teeth in contact with your lower teeth while breathing opening your mouth might help.
Catamenial pneumothorax: Just putting this out there...I had pains in my shoulder and went for an x-ray. Turned out to be a collapsed lung. This happens spontaneously sometimes, usually in tall, thin people, and that's what they assumed it was until it happened again a month later. Turns out mine was caused by endometriosis of the lung (therefore associated with timing of my menstrual cycles). Just keep that in mind, as it is very rare and doctors seldom think of this. I have had many chest tubes and finally had to have my ovaries removed to stop the estrogen from causing lung collapses. The medical term is catamenial pneumothorax (or thoracic endometriosis). The first treatment they wanted to give me was birth control pills to stop my cycles. Don't let them do that! Estrogen is the enemy if you have this condition. They kept increasing the dosage until I got angry and told them no more. I have not had a chest tube since, although I still do have symptoms on and off. I had pains in my back, shoulder, neck and lightheadedness (just transient) and would be short of breath after exertion. Once when I had it I thought I was really fine but the x-ray showed a tension pneumothorax, which can be life threatening, so if you have any sharp pains or breathing symptoms, just go get it checked out. Most women start having this in their 30's, but you can get it at any childbearing age. Menopause is the only cure, so having my ovaries removed at age 50 was not a big problem for me.
I have the same problem! When I take a deep breath my shoulder and chest burn and feel like they are being stabbed. My stomach started to hurt afterwards also. The ache continued in my chest, shoulder, and stomach all day. The burning happened twice in one day and lasted a few minutes. My friends told me it was heart burn, so that's something to look into. You might also want to lay off the cigarettes and drinking because that could contribute greatly to the problem.
