Hi. I'm a 34 year old male.
Recently I got very strong itchiness on my scrotum but I didn’t pay too much attention on it because it is happening to me very often after shaving my testicles.
But this time this itchy feeling were troubling me for over than a week and after some time, during a normal shower, I have noticed that I have some small yellow lump underneath my testicles. You can imagine how frightened I was when I saw it. It was very sore and painful when I touched it.
I contacted my urologist immediately and, after just one look, he set the diagnosis - Clogged follicles and he gave me some antibiotic crème and scheduled me for one week to exam.
What kind of condition this is and are there any known complications?

Well I had these clogged follicles on my groin region but it think that clogged follicle is a clogged follicle so basically -it is a same thing.
You already know that scrotal region is covered with hair follicles and they give this very thin skin a rough look.
Sometimes, during some maneuvers with testicles and scrotum, like your shaving for example, can bring some bacteria on this very sensitive region and you have inflammation.
Bacteria often enter small ulcerations caused by shaving or a natural opening of hair follicle. Sometimes small parts of skin can clog this follicle.
When this happen you have clogged follicles on scrotum leading to purulent inflammation of hair follicle.
It can be treated with some usual antibiotics when doctor is trying to remove bacterias on this region and this can pass by it self afterwards.
More often case is surgery treatment.
Surgeon will, in local anesthesia, remove your inflammated follicle and put maybe one stitch on it.
Removing of stitches is for about a week from the date of operation.
After that, you will not have any problems of this kind any more.

Today I got noticed a couple more. I got so distressed I went to the doctor right after work.

One look at them and he knew exactly what it was -- Folliculitis -- infection of a hair follicle. I asked how could they spread like this, I shower every morning? He said the infection can spread from one hair follicle to the next at any time, which is why it's important to have treatment. It can even spread from the genitals to the thighs, which is another symptom of mine. (I shaved some of that too). Unclean razors, sweating, dirty underwear, even touching something dirty and then touching your penis can infect it. It's like the flu of gonads! Masturbation can spread the infection as well - if you have the bacteria on your hands, you are obviously spreading it all over your penis (in my case anyway)

Thus he prescribed me antibiotics. Corticosteroids reduce inflammation, but do not stand a chance against infection. He reminded me I must be very careful when shaving that area, and to be honest this might be the last time! Neosporin is a good topical antibiotic, but probably would have to cover everything just for it to be effective! Benadryl or Cortizone can reduce the itch and irritation, and washing daily with antibacterial soap will keep the infection from spreading any further.

Same situation.. this sucks... I'm not sure if there is a cure for these not to recur or spread. I've been recommended warm moist compress 30mins a day, hot bath etc... but this is extremely time consuming.

Get a needle. Squeeze the bump and push the needle in the bump and pull the needle out while squeezing the bump. Pus will spew out. So get a towel.
