Have you tried salts - the sort which you take if you have a tummy upset - that and arnica were the only things which relieved my head pains which I associate with my age and not migraine

Hello, I am a 42 year old female, never had HA. About 2 moths ago after suffering from severe top of the head pain for 7 days I went to ER. The MRI revealed at least 2 nodules around the lateral ventricle; I was told they are probably benign and are not the cause of my HA. I suspected hypothyroid and gallblader/liver problems as a cause. Latelly the HA came back especially at night (around 2 am) and now I have nausea with them. I will see a neurologist next. They are in top of the head more on the Right and sometimes my head seams to be hot in that area. Any sugestions?

Hi all,

FIRSTLY I HAVE TO ASK. DID ANYONE GET A VACCINATION BEFORE ALL THIS STARTED?

I have heard that heavy metals can cause this stuff. All my symptoms started about a 2 years ago a month after I had a tetanus shot.

Anyway, maybe this can help some people. I have done about a years research into my condition. From cancer, to virus's, to syndromes to diets etc. I been through it all to find answers.

I thought I was the only one who had this strange thing. But I guess other people get it too.

Maybe I can help, I have been to many many doctors and I have found a few things.

Firstly I had what I found that seems to be consistent with the ache in the head was falx calcification, apparently its quite common and many radiologists don't even mention it in their report because its not significant. Many people get it due to imbalanced diet and too much calcium. If you keep your head in a positions for a long enough time the ache starts to develop in some people. A falx calcification can cause isolated dull stinging type of pain in the center on the top of your head. I don't know if its this, but it could be possible.

This is what I have, I have a burning, numb, stining, prickling type of ache on the top of my head, and sometimes and the back of my head. Sometimes it feels coldish or hotish and like a liquid that is leaking. Seldom it would throb but most of the time its dullish. It's not unbearable pain, it's just weird and a bit scary. I noticed that when I drink fluids it tends to make it worse, about four hours after I drink. This might be because of a slight build build up? I'm not sure.

I notice when I drink fluids my ears respond with strange symptoms. Only sometimes, I dont know if its related.

I had two MRI's the second one was done T3 which was extra resolution and showed no tumors. I have had several blood tests which showed nothing.

I am also fatigued, tired etc. I battle to sleep sometimes. Some people said it could be chronic fatigue syndrome?? Not sure. Sometimes It makes me dizzy and feel a little unstable.

I have had this for about 1 and half years now and I am 27. It is driving me crazy.

On the whole I can live life sort of okay but it has for sure effected my lifestyle. Doctors just cant help me so I have given up on them.

For the past two years I also developed cyclic vomiting syndrome. This is where every 3 months or so I have a random episode of Nausea or vomiting at night or in the morning.

This is what I get from all this. Either I have two separate things and the ache in my head is a falx calcification. Or all the symptoms I have are the same thing. If all the symptoms are the same condition it could be chronic fatigue syndrome?

Hi all, I'm a 29 year old male that has been suffering from pressure in my fore head, and the top of my teeth hurt. I been in 2 car accidents 06 and 07, I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I will soon find out. I have 2 herniaided disc because of the ppl that don't know how to push on the breaks.... (welcome to Florida I guess) I just had sinus surgery in June of 2009. It seemed well, I can breath a lot better, but the headaches and teeth pain are so servere I feel like falling on my face. I want to go to the hospital almost every day. The last time I seen the specialist he said I was suffering from Migrains and to take excedren migrain. I can't take the pain..... If you have a answer for who i should see, or what i should do i would be so greatful. God bless you all. :'(

Have you all ever seen that show Mistery Diagnosis? If not, I'll tell you something I learned from that show. It is that some times it takes several Dr.'s before you find out what is truly wrong with you. Some Dr.'s specialize in certain areas more so than others, some have had a case in which they recall that helps them to accurately diagnose the next patient with the same condition, and some dr.'s are just better than others. So don't give up on a diagnosis. I know it's frustrating b/c I've been there. Just keep going to different Dr.'s, mainly specialist, until you find one that will listen to you, and work with you, and until you get that diagnosis, treatment and relief. Just b/c you have a headache does not mean you need therapy or that you do not handle stress well. I was told that I was a new mom and that stress was just getting to me. It's true that new moms do often get headaches, especially migraines, so be sure to get enough sleep, work out to decrease stress, and get your husband or mom or someone to babysit so you can have a break to avoid this if this is what is truly occurring. My headaches ended up being caused by a number of triggers: msg (food preservative), tmj (pain in jaw), deteriorated disk in my neck, artificial sweeteners, fragrances, certain products like Proactive (fragrance mainly). it took me several dr.'s and several years to learn what ALL my triggers were. there are rare things that could be causing it also like parasites, or it could be as simple as a tension or cluster headache. Getting proper rest, and working out to relieve stress is imperative if you are having any kind of headache. Keep a diary of what you eat and of when your headaches occur. If it doesn't seem to be food related track what you were doing right before your headache occurred. If you feel dizzy, nauseated, etc. list that in your journal as well. Basically, the more info. you can give the dr. the easier the task will be to diagnose you correctly. Don't leave any symptoms out when visiting dr. Some times it's one symptom that can tie a diagnosis together. Good luck to all of you!!

Hey all, 21 year old male here. I'm not sure if my symptoms are similar; I keep getting constant internal pains that feel like something is piercing through my skull. I've had headaches in the past and these types of pains do not cause nausea for me. It's just simply raw pain that causes me to cringe every time I feel it.

At the moment, I am consistently getting pangs in the same spot (behind my left ear on the back of my head). Painkillers do nothing for me either. I am starting to think that maybe the pain really is psychological since I can't seem to detect any physical damage, or anything related of the sort. I will update if my condition changes or I figure something out.

I too have been suffering with headaches for the past month or so. Its on the top of my head, on the left hand side, and it feels as if someone has stuck a needle through my brain. I also can feel it go all the way down behind my eye. I have not been to the doctor yet, but it is a little scary. I was hoping it would go away but hasn't. It's sporadic throughout the day and night.

It looks like you are suffering from tension headache just like me... I haven't seen a doctor but I read on the Internet that these are caused by stress or lack of sleep and they do not show on a scan... I suggest you search for "tension headache" in google...

Naa. These are not tension headaches. I just started to experience this headache. It was on the right side, and recently I had found out I had high blood pressure so I figured that was just the culprit. However a day later I started having these headaches on the very tip top of my head. Sometimes to the left, or right, but mainly right in the center at the top. Like previously stated, feels like a giant knitting needle is stuck in my skull, it's completely intermittent, and sometimes along with this discomfort comes really bad dizziness, as well as blurry vision. My left arm and leg have also lost lots of sensation, and sometimes don't fully respond to my command. I also then start to get a bit of a bout of anxiety thinking that something worse is about to happen. I suppose there is a chance this could be anxiety related? Who knows. Been in and out of emergency room this week. Some elevated liver enzymes in my blood, but nothing too intense. CT scan was normal.

I don't have the money to keep going to a ton of specialists till it gets figured out. Guess I am just gonna have to fight it.

Six days ago I woke up with severe pain at the top of my head too, it was like I had been hit with something very hard while i was sleeping but my head was not close enough to the headboard. I have never felt a headache so full-on, like cringing with pain. Six days later I still have a dull ache that doesnt want to go away. Panadol is what I have been using and it works, 1000mg. However, I dont see it always working especially when I wake up with it every morning this week and wonder now if Im ever going to be headache free again after reading all your blogs.

Doctors... WE NEED YOU TO FIX THIS!

I would hazard a guess that this is all causing some added stress to you all, i suffer from top of the head pain and i know my legs also feel some pain too. i do meditate and i heal myself but one thing i did notice is that i spend a lot of time in front of a computer worrying about what causes all these tings, my conclusion is that it's sitting in front of a pc in odd positions for long amounts of time worrying and just doing it over and over is a sure way to create a headache and cut off blood supply to the legs for sure.

good luck to all and may you find other things to do besides worry and sit in front of a pc :-D

If I were you I would go and see a cardiologist.............,My husband (whom has since passed) use to have bad headaches
and alot of them were on the top of his head, we never thought anything much of them, he took pain meds to manage them
and got on w/his life, as it turned out he had alot of placq building in his artaries and ended up having a very bad heart
attack, he survived that but ended up having one that he didn't survive.
Hope that helps. Good Luck.
