Could be a nummular headache. pronounced noomular, from the latin word meaning coin. Caused thru nerve damage from possibly banging your head. Neurologist knew right away, what 5 doctors couldn`t diagose. Treatment is a nerve block.Maybe 2 injections one each to the back of head and also front.Sometimes into affected area. Takes 30 seconds to a minute to complete. hurts more of a night because nerves are stretched when lying down. Hope this helps.

Not sure if this will be any help to you, but can't hurt to mention in case it could help someone. My Aunt had blood pressure that would fluctuate wildly and migraine head aches. Doctors could not figure out what was wrong with her. Some time later she suffered a stroke. Did not find ou tthat it was a tumor on her adrenal gland until she went in for a foot surgery and the anathesia, because of the tumor, caused her blood pressure to go thru the roof.

I am a male who have similar problems in addition when i walk in open spaces i feel i am going to fall. it is one year already. I thought i was alone on this until i find this page. My doctor says is vertigo, then he says is sea-sick-motion on land. Well, he i just guessing. i tried to find ways to cure it. I have an old  botanical book that says to drink a tea of paper mint. I notice that it works. when i don't drink the tea, i experience again the symptoms. in addition, I found out that by having a small glass of 7-up pop it relieves the symptoms as well. I hope if somebody knows about other things that can help to share it. I hope as well that the above can be helpful to anybody.

I have read many of the headache problems mentioned here. I wanted to share my experience. I have had headache for most of my life. My family had the same problems. In my case, it took along time even visiting many doctors before I could find answer to my problem. My solution which may not suitable to some but hope will help some is as follows.

I noticed that several issues that I did started off the pain. So all I did was to isolate all of them and avoid them. These were;

1) sleeping less than 8 hours  or more than 9 hours started off the headache  so I have stuck to sleeping exactly 8hours.

2) going without food or drink for more than 6 hours during the day - so I eat regularly but speacially drink a lot of tea about 6-8 cups a day.

3) eating cooked food after 3 hours was a problem so I only eat freshly cooked food. This was a big problem during the summer period when the weather was hot.

4) related to food again I had a big problem with bread that was stored outside the fridge. So I don't eat bread that has been opened for more than 3 hours. I have to refridgerate it immidiately I open. If refridgerated I don't eat it more than 48 hours.

5) having the sun shine on my forehead for more than a few minutes was a problem. So whenever I walk I do so in the shadows. That has resulted in a defiency of my vitamin D so I get my GP to give me the injection twice a year.

6)  Another heat related problem was during the winter when the I switched on the radiator in the house or the car heat. So I always sit far from the radiator and make sure my house temperature does not go beyond 21 degrees celcius. I have stopped driving during the winter and use public transport.

7) Whenever I get angry, I have had the headache, so I don't put myself in situations where I would be angry. Simply I don't respond to auguments.

8) working for more than 3 hours without a break is another one. So I always do any chores for 50 minutes, then 10 minutes rest.

9) being exposed to wind and cold is another trigger. So I always wear a jacket/jumper regardless of the weather if I am outside. I usually have the one with a zipper on the front so that I can control my body temperature. I imediately remove the jacket/jumper when indoors. I cover my head if it is cold or windy.

10) having a drought in the house is another problem. so I only open one window in the house at a time.

11) When I shower, I have to stay indoors for at least 2 hours before I go out.

This is my personal list but hope it might help. I know for those with small children, other triggers could be the disrupted sleep.

Other issues might require adjusting any glasses worn.

I know blood vessels that are blocked could be a cause so a doctor's check my be required.

I too started getting pain on the top of my head a few weeks ago and am looking to see what is causing it.  I guess i better start by getting checked by the doctor to rule out any tumors,  are MRI dangerous?

Im also experiencing the same symptons you are having and i also have been to every type of Dr. so after everything has come back normal i had to take matters into my own hands by researching all my symptons, what i believe we are experiencing is hormonal imbalance. So i went to a BodyLogicMD Dr. in my area. they deal with JUST hormonal imbalances with natural remendies. They did extensive bloodwork along with saliva testing. Come to find out my hormones are all out of whack. So right now im in the process of waiting for my Hormones that are coming from a compounding pharmacy.. So please look up on line Hormonal Inbalances and you will see your symptons. I hope this helped.

I have not sought treatment as this is the first time I have seen these headaches described pretty close to what I experience.  I have noticed that the pain will build the 1st day or two it is just a slight annoyance,  then it gets worse and worse until I am sleep deprived and actually hitting the top of my head (it does seem to help) to try and make it stop.  I also experience irritable leg at the same time as the headache.  This will go on for 3 to 4 days.  Then one day it will just stop.   If I apply pressure to the exact spot it releives the pain as well.  This has been going on now for 5 years every 2-4 months it will begin. Then stop after 2 days to a week of pain.  I am a 53 year old woman,  I used to get migraines I do not any more for some reason these new headaches have taken the place of the migraines.

I have the same head ache you are experiencing.  I have been tested for everything and finally found out that the cause was low ferritin in my blood which gave me a hair pulling head ache 24/7 as well many other symptoms.  My Ferritin level was 3 and now up to 4.75.  When you have your ferritin level check make sure you ask your doctor to give you the levels in micrograms not nanograms.  if they do, know that 1 nanograms = 8 micrograms.  The resolts they gave me was 38 nanograms which made my level 4.75% in micrograms and this is low.  I hope this helps you guys.  Know that you are not loosing your mind and you are not the only one out there.  Information is power.
