I am 31 years old with one child who is 15 months old. My husband and I were prepare to begin trying to conceive again, when my OB informed me that I need a LEEP procedure. She has told me that she is doing it as a minor outpatient surgery under general anesthesia because she does not thing she will be able to get it all & keep me numb enough with a local anesthetic. My questions are how long are we going to have to wait before we can try to conceive again & is it going to put me at increased risk of cervical incompetency for future pregnancies? I am so devastated about this but I am equally afraid of not getting it all and having to repeat it later or ending up with cancer. I just want more children more than anything in this world!!! Please help.
