A friend gave me one of his concertas once, i wasnt hungry for 16 hours!
I use concerta for ADD and it has caused me to lose over 30lbs in two months. This is due to the fact that it helps you stay focused on the tasks you are performing instead of being bored and snacking, as well as gives you enough energy to exercise. It is not a miracle pill, but it does help with weightloss
You are wrong! I am on concerta and it knocks your appetite and I have lost weight. Do research on it.
Wow, as an adult with ADD who RESPONSIBLY uses medication occasionally to help with work and school, this is incredibly disheartening. When taking Concerta on a day to day basis I loose weight rapidly, to an unhealthy point (I started out at 5 foot 6 and 125. now I'm under 110 within two months NOT HEALTHY OR AN OK AMOUNT OF WEIGHT LOSS). I also loose days of sleep at a time. I guess if you have an eating disorder, which it appears you do it's what you are looking for, in which case I hope you get the help that you need. It is not worth feeling shaky, weak, nauseous, exhausted and a host of other negative feeling associated with lack of sleep combined with lack of food.
please don't encourage people to dangerously misuse medication.
I have been diagnosed with add and put on concerta I have to admit at first I was excited to hear it may help with weight loss I have 5 children so anything that helps with energy or weight loss sounds good, but it has not done that at all for me, I go running 10-15 hrs a week and am having a harder time losing weight on this medicine than ever before! I have a good appetite feel hungry all the time, sleep better, can follow conversations am less angry or anxious because I can focus enough to not be overwhelmed as easy! it actually makes me have better self esteem which is a plus inspite of lack of losing weight. I have noticed my hair has thinned and my skin isn't as clear, plus I feel like my recovery from exercising is much slower, it's a toss up but mental health is definitely more important that physical appearance so definitely find something better if u just need to lose weight! Otherwise it's not much different than being a meth head besides the legal prescription part!
Hi I am 21 and been taking concerta since I was five. This is incredibly powerful drug, the only reason you lose weight is because impulses are controlled. If you use it for any other purpose you can get violently sick and end up in the ER. You can't drink at all, if I want a glass of wine I have to not take my meds for the day. If you want to lose weight do it the right way and save yourself from extreme damage.
