Count yourself lucky. You're one of few here that haven't had extreme pain through this procedure.
I had one performed in June, it's now January, and I can say that I still feel pain from that procedure. I was so tense throughout it that my wife said my chest tripled in size.
As someone else mentioned above, no amount of money will get me to do this without being completely under EVER again.

I had two cystos. The first one was with lydocaine shot and I could barely feel anything. It didn't hurt at all. It was a little uncomfortable when passing through prostate, but overal it wasn't even unpleasant experience. The second one was done without lydocaine and I could feel stinging sensation when passing through prostate. The stinging sensation lasted next few times of urination. Both cystos were done with flexible cystoscope.
My experience was identical to yours, I couldnt tell it better. The lydocaine is bs, I screamed in utter agony from start to finish. Of course on the urology websites they arent going to post these types of experiences, they only post the easy ones. The only thing I can say is that mine was fairy quick, because I was three seconds away from passing out. Jeff Coleman, 58.
I had a cystoscopy yesterday. I thought I owed it to the world to be at least honest about it. I am traumatized by the experience that I was led to believe by bs websites would be "mildly uncomfortable". I screamed in utter agony from start to finish, and was probably three seconds away from passing out from the pain. The lydocaine does not help at all and is uncomfortable as well going in. (They are shoving a nozzle into your uretha for the lydocaine, does that sound "mildly uncomfortable"?). One positive note: My urologist was mercifully quick about it, and the post op pain, urination etc (for me at least) wasnt bad.
If you must do this then at least you will really know what to expect (or perhaps do it under general).

This is legalized Nazi Butchery. Doctors are sadistic bastards and bit***s, they enjoy hurting people. That is why they performed surgery without general anesthesia after Tsunami 2004 tore apart Indonesia.
Stress caused me to have a cystoscopy in 1998 at the of 48. I had to be knocked out by a general anesthesia. I am damned sure that male medical students don't practice cystoscopy on each other. Oh, they wouldn't want to miss a moment in bet with someone. But they sure don't mind screwing up other peoples' bodies. Bendable scopes? They also use unbendable scopes to perform surgery and there's curvature inside the male body. So men and boys get torn apart inside. But don't forget, they first have you sign a waver so you can't sue for medical malpractice. And a lot of "doctors" are deliberately injuring people.
I was under in a general anesthesia for a bendable cystoscopy.. The female urologist talked about how the body bends on the inside when unbendable scopes are used. Well, no matter how much a penis is pulled in a straight line there is a 90 degree turn toward the prostate gland and higher up into the bladder. men and boys get torn apart on the inside. I fully sympathize with you. Modern medicine is the pits. I blame all this and more on the failure of the Christian church because so few have the power to heal.
A lot of deception about "medical" procedures is coming out of the mouths of "doctors." "Oh, this won't hurt a bit." Yeah, right. If you should not believe everything that you read then don't be deceived by so-called doctors telling you that something won't hurt, especially your private parts. Did the fiend stop the procedure when you began screaming,in pain? Of course not, it was sheer pleasure to head you screaming you head off. I'm surprised that the demon didn't first amputate your penis before starting the procedure. That way it would have been much easier to do what was done.
If the so-called procedure was done by a male ale "doctor" then he had no regard for your state of mind. Male "doctors" don't seem to understand that there is a mind body connection. "Oh, this won't hurt a bit." Yeah, right. First is the anguish of knowing that you are going to get skewered and that you heart rate will increase. There is always the fear factor, but what do "doctors" care?.It's money in their pockets, and sheer joy to legally torture people. It makes you wonder if they are looking for cysts or other nasty things are if they are really playing video games. Next time go to a church that believes in the healing power of Christ. God will heal you without all the negative fore thoughts and all the negative side effects.
Nest time go to a church that believes in the healing power of God. Why people allow themselves to go though agony is beyond my comprehension.
I wouldn't a damned urologist again. Oh, I am sure that the woman enjoyed what she did to you. There are a lot of hateful people in the "medical" profession. Next time go to a church that believes in the healing power of God.
It's only quite obvious that lidocaine does not work to deaden pain, It probable increases the it. "Doctors" come up with all manner of things to pound patients with, and then charge a penis, prostate gland, and bladder as a price. Anatomy has nothing to do with one of the most sensitive parts of a man's body. Pain is pain, period, there is no getting around it. But I fully sympathize with you.
I just had one today during a consult with the urologist. Was not scheduled, and it was performed as soon as the nurses set up the exam room. I did not have time to get nervous about it, and honestly, it was not as dramatic as some would make it seem. It was certainly uncomfortable, but it was not excruciatingly painful. It was over in 3 minutes. If you have ever had a catheter put in, it felt like that. Not a walk in the park, but not anywhere near passing a kidney stone or something. I feel a bit achy and uncomfortable now several hours later, and took an Aleve.
I have undergone cystoscopy several times in the past. I personally found the procedure unacceptably, unnecessarily uncomfortable and painful. The topical anesthesia was ineffective. I had a moderate amount of underlying pathology that may have been contributory. I personally would not have cystoscopy done again without at least "Twilight" or general anesthesia- like what's given during Colonoscopy. I understand this would incur addition cost. Also, increased hassle and preparation for the Urologist.
My husband had the same thing and he was shaking violently afterwards from the pain. it needs to be done with general anesthesia.. otherwise it is inhumane!!!
