Hello, my name is jenny I am 24 and I was diagnosed w/ freibergs infarction 2 years ago. For the first year I got 3 cortisone injections into the joint. That helped for a month or so at a time. My dr said I could only have 3 shots a year. At the end of the year it was getting worse and worse and I wasin constant pain all the time.

I had surgery to debride the metarsal head and remove a couple loose bodies that formed. He also placed a screw through the bone. My foot felt a little better for a couple months. Then a big hunk of scar tissue formed around a nerve and I was in terrible pain again. After a couple of injections, the scar tissue has diminished. Just as the scar tissue went away my joint started hurting again and im in terrible pain! They retook X rays, and said that my bone looks great at the moment, and dont know why im in pain. I got another injection in the joint yesterday, and the pain has only gotten worse since then! I have never had that reaction before. They are usually helpful right away.
